  • Last Forever
Color: Red Size: Large
I bought these for my boyfriend but have had a pair for over ten years and they are still going strong. You could get a less expensive pair but these seriously last forever and you can sharpen them if they dull. I’ve never had issues with the chains or the rubber, and they work exactly how they’re supposed to. No slipping on trails anymore! The amount of times I have used them makes the price completely worth it, especially after reading the reviews of the knock offs. ... show more

  • I can walk on any surface with complete confidence
Color: Black Size: Medium
I am very happy with this purchase. I often go walking in the woods with my dog and had been having issues with ice. I slipped and fell a few times on ice patches that were hidden beneath a thin layer of snow. Worse than falling was when I almost fell but caught myself, wrenching my back or knee in the process. Ice is especially a problem on hills. Since I got these spikes, I can walk on any surface with complete confidence using my normal gait. I don't even bother walking around ice patches anymore. I normally wear these with my hiking boots, which look similar to the boots in the picture on Amazon. They slip on and off easily, about the effort required to put on a pair of socks. If I need to walk on pavement to cross a street, I usually take them off. They are very comfortable when walking on dirt, leaves, ice, and snow. I don't feel the spikes at all. Occasionally, when I walk on a hard surface for an extended period of time, such as crossing a frozen pond, I start to feel the spikes on my feet, so I would guess that these might become less comfortable to wear if you were to use them on solid ice for an extended period of time (like ice-fishing). I have had these for almost a year now. I have worn them about 25 times. So far, no signs of premature wear and tear. Update: I have had these for three years now, and used them through parts of four winters, probably about 100 walks in the woods (no hard-core hiking). The rubber harness on one of them recently broke. It did not break where the chain is attached to the harness, which seems to be pretty well reinforced, it is in the middle of the strap between two chains on the side of the shoe. I fixed it using a zip-tie attached to the two chains, so I am keeping them for now. The metal parts are still like new and there has been no rusting. Still happy with my purchase, but given that these are priced more than double the other similar looking brands, I can't help wondering if the cheaper brand might be a better value. I was partly sold by reviews from people who had them for 6 years, so I am disappointed that mine only lasted 3 years. ... show more

  • Easy to use and reliable
Color: Red Size: Large
I bought microspikes as a gift for my son. I already own a pair. They are easy to put on and work well. I wanted my son to have spikes I feel confident will perform.

  • 6/5 stars incredible, regret not buying sooner
Color: Red Size: X-Large
I cannot for the life of me write a glowing enough review for these microspikes/crampons. I was skeptical, but read on for a 100% true story. Last year, 14 October, 2022, my fiancé and I hiked a mountain in Alaska named Donnelly Dome. It is 3,832 feet to summit. It defeated us at elevation 3,064. We were fully kitted out for the snow and cold with food and water. We thought we were prepared, but above that elevation everything turned to ice and rock. We didn’t know that at the time. Our footwear was evidently lacking because we just couldn’t safely make it up the rock face, and I assure you, we did try. Frustrated and defeated, we went home to Pennsylvania. 24 September, 2023 we returned with the identical kits and gear. The one and only difference is we both had on a pair of these microspikes/crampons. This year not only did we summit without a single issue, we did it in record time, with snow and ice above that very same elevation. 6/5 stars would recommend. I’ve since used these on five other hikes, two in alaska summiting another 4,100 feet, and 2,800 feet on the other. The ones here in Pa were only 1,590 and 1,450 feet, but these spikes made the hike easy. And I’m not joking. Downhill is my weakness, and these make it simple and save my legs. I will never hike without them again. Not to mention putting them on when needed and removing when not was ludicrously easy. I regret not buying them sooner. They are terrific in light snow/ice, gravel, hard/medium pack dirt, and light rocks. Not so great in snow deeper than 6 inches, and a bit slippy on actual rocks when your entire foot is contacting ONLY rock. Sizing, the large was a teensy bit too small for my size 13 hiking boot and was making it curl up the the toe box, so had to upgrade to XL. The only real downside that I now have is that I notice myself getting a wee bit over-confident with these fitted. So wearer, be wary of that. ... show more

  • NO NONSENCE SPIKES THAT GRAB THE ICE
Color: Red Size: Medium
I ordered this set of winter traction Microspikes after trying my husband's spikes during an ice storm in my region. Our deck was covered in a thin layer of ice on top of a couple of inches of snow and Boy!! These grip the terrain! I wanted to replace a frozen bird feeder with a fresh feeder but the old traction spikes just didn't grip deep enough and I didn't feel safe. These required a little muscle power to stretch them over my shoes at first, but once attached, I was able to easily keep both my balance and traction on the deck. I rated them a 4 instead of 5 stars solely based on the need to pull rather hard on the silicone front and back to get them over the top and backsides of my shoes. Once in place, absolutely solid. They were easy to remove and will probably be easier to attach now that they have had their initial stretch onto my shoes. I wear a size 10 women's shoe and purchased the suggested medium size for Women's shoe size 9-12 and feel they are true to size. Will definitely purchase another pair for hiking boots, but go up a size to account for the shoe volume of boots. ... show more
