  • Best commercially roasted Kenya beans I’ve ever found!
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have roasted green beans at home for nearly a decade - being an absolute coffee addict - and bought a bag of these beans on a lark, not expecting a lot from them. Nearly all roasted Kenyan beans are either too dark or totally under-roasted. My addiction to perfectly roasted Kenya coffee is what lead me to undertake the difficult process of learning how to do it myself… starting with an air roaster but quickly moving up to a one-pound batch Behmor machine. It’s tricky to get everything right, but this vendor nailed it! No other coffee in the world has the earthy sweetness of Kenya coffee, when done correctly. (How do you check the roast of any bean? Make a double strength cup (I prefer those wedge shaped Melita filters); then smell and sip the coffee. Any off-flavors, incorrect roasting profiles, etc., will stand out unmistakably.) This bean’s test was flawless, and I’ve just ordered two more bags[ ... show more

  • A Darn Good Cup of Coffee
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I got this coffee for my son for Easter, but he was kind enough to share. And I'm so glad he did! This is a well-balanced blend of coffee! It's smooth, the tasting notes shared on the bag really come through. It's not very acidic, it even leaves your mouth feeling clean if you brew it correctly, no tongue sweater! Plus, the company does some good in the world, and I'm so happy to support that. I can't recommend this coffee enough, it's delightful! ... show more

  • Disappointed
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The taste did not fit the hype as presented on Shark Tank. I believed in what the purpose of the business was—to empower women in business. The taste of the coffee was very disappointing. I will not buy again.

  • Absolutely delicious!
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I am so glad I decided to try Kahawa coffee based on a friend's recommendation. The coffee is very flavorful but not overly strong or bitter. During these unsettling times, it's wonderful to sit down and have an aromatic, tasty moment sipping this coffee. Will definitely reorder!

  • good flavor and really good aroma, kinda pricey but great cause
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I see they dropped the price on these, which helps; they were really expensive given you're getting less than a pound of beans. Overall the coffee is quite good, and I REALLY like the aromatics. I would have trouble saying "that's black currants, and wait, no, there's apricots also" but I WOULD say "this smells really good, roasty with some sort of a fruity note as well." (I am also not the guy to describe things like old leather and tobacco in my wines) As I said, aroma is good with some admitted fruit note that's very attractive, and flavor-wise it is a very solid medium roast. Outside the flavor and aroma, this is one of those products where you are making choices: do you care about how your coffee is sourced, if it meant to help women or other groups or just a corporate giant somewhere, etc.? This is "coffee with a cause" and as with most things that aren't stripped to their most cost-effective version by large companies chasing the bottom line, you pay a premium to choose to spend your dollars on a better product. I cant tell other people how to spend their money but the fact this company does support women isn't insignifiacnt--you could do worse with your dollar than spending a few more on a company that's trying to help one of the most impoverished groups in one of the most impoverished parts of the world. If the newer price or similar holds, I would likely buy again--having been to Africa, the extra dime or two per cup isnt hurting me but can bring real, tangible benefits to people who need it. I mean, I could pay similar prices, and instead send that money to a seattle-based company that's aggressively anti-union and has a store on every corner of every town, or it could make a difference for the women who actually farm these beans. ... show more

  • Good coffee at around the average price
Flavor Name: Kenyan Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Worth the price? 3.5/5 Would I buy again? 3.5/5 I've been trying a few different whole bean coffees and came across this bag. My taste buds aren't as fine tuned, so I can't say whether I taste any fruits, but the flavor of this coffee is good. I prefer darker roasts, but this blend was pleasant, and the cost is on par with a lot of different coffees out there. I'd consider getting another bag when I run out of beans. ... show more
