    • Disappointment in a Box
This summer i knew I was moving to first grade and my classroom was going to be comprised of mainly boys so I wanted to provide all of my students with more building toys, as I already had lots of art and games but was lacking in that area. These were one of the items I purchased that I thought my students would enjoy as I have used K'Nex with students in summer programs and they love them. This set however, is extremely overwhelming. After emptying all of the packages the bottom of the box is not even covered. When students get the bin to play they look at it and put it right back as they are afraid there are not enough pieces for more than one person. K'Nex are quite costly and I was able to get this set on sale, however I need many more sets before students would engage in the sets. ... show more

    • KNex customer service isn't good
I bought this set because I wanted the plane instructions on the picture. I looked all over their web site and couldn't find it and it's not in the manual. I also emailed the company and asked for the instructions for the plane over a month ago and haven't heard back. The plane shouldn't be on the picture if they don't have the instructions. All the other items pictured were in the instruction manual that came in the container. I would have loved to have given them 5 stars but so far I'm not to happy with them. ... show more

    • Get a regular K'NEX set, don't bother with this one
I bought these for my grandson for his 5th birthday. He's very good at building things with legos, marble towers, etc, and has used K'NEX before so I thought this is, which claims it's for slightly younger kids, would be perfect for him. We weren't really worried about following directions because he's good at just putting things together on his own. I did like the way this came with wheels and other vehicle parts rather than the faces included with the preschool parts, however, I really didn't see anything about this set that made it more appropriate for younger children. Many of the parts are smaller than the regular K'NEX so aren't interchangeable with other sets and are harder to clean up. I would say if you have a 5-7 year old who's good at building things just go ahead and get him/her a regular K'NEX set and don't bother with this one. ... show more

I've looked everywhere in the box and on this page, and the product is presented as standard k'nex, how this kit is 95% mini pieces??? I've never even heard of these before... It has all of the standard k'nex shapes, but they're suuuuper tiny. There are over 400 pieces and it is K'Nex brand, but it's a useless kit because I can't use it with any other k'nex pieces and they're so tiny they're difficult to handle. I bought them for my kindergarten classroom, but the pieces are way too small for their little hands so now I just have to look at this box of disappointment every time I walk into my home. ... show more

The pieces are far too small and the directions are complicated. I bought this set for my 7 year old son and it is too difficult for him. He regularly does complex LEGO sets but this is far more difficult. He lost interest extremely quickly because it was so difficult. My 10 year old has taken over the set but she even struggles a little. ... show more
