Disappointed in the size of the pieces. They are extremely tiny, I thought they would be medium sized easier for kids 6-10 to play with. Pieces as so small only older kids who put together model cars would be interested in trying to create with these small pieces.

Got these for my newly turned 5year old for his birthday. Already a big hit! They are a tad difficult to snap together at first but he got the hang of it quickly. The box is very big for the amount of pieces and does look underwhelming when you see the bottom but there is definitely 500+ pieces. Prespective of 500 marbles in a bath tub vs a mixing bowl would look very different but that doesn't mean there are less pieces in the tub. It even says in the description that the container is large so you can easily store half done creations to come back and work on again. I have 3 qualms. We inventoried them and we were missing a single piece and unfortunately it was a crucial piece to making 5 of the 10 creations that have step by step instructions. There is one piece that in the parts key and the instructions that is yellow but the physical piece is actually red. The third is that the booklet says to go to a website for missing pieces and it doesn't seem to be a legit website anymore. Not a qualm but just to share the info, when counting out all the pieces we had actually had 6 shapes that combined had 7 EXTRA pieces are well. ... show more

My grandson loves the K’Nex. I have bought him many sets. The ones with the engines are the best. The sets are expensive for how much you get. You need a plastic K’Nex box for a bunch of the sets, cardboard boxes they come in don’t last. He is seven and can use his imagination with these sets.

These were smaller than I was prepared for. Smaller than both the other sets I bought my grandson & so he as a little trouble connecting the smaller pieces. However, now he can share with his cousin, which was my intent, & they allow for a lot of creativity. On the up side he can grow into the smaller pieces. ... show more

These are not the same Knex I grew up with. This set has about 100 of these small spacer in the bag that are a complete waist. Takes away from a lot of building potential because there are hardly any long pieces that are used to make the frame work for a creative mind. It was not necessary to fill this product full of these junk pieces. I'm gonna have to buy multiple sets to really have anything for my kid to play with. WOW! When I was a kid these sets came with a ton of pieces that were actually usable. Purchased this set along with the Imagine 25th Anniversary Ultimatebuilder's Case set for my 11 yo granddaughter. Was hoping that between the two, she would have some practical storage options. The first significant benefit though, turned out to be the variety of pieces that she ended up with! She loved it! Opened ALL the bags from both sets and stirred everything up together in this set's bin and started to build immediately! She was totally engrossed in her build when she was required to temporarily to put it away, so that was a frustration for her...but then she realized that what she'd created fit in the bin, and she transferred everything else to the carrying case for travel. She didn't want to quit playing with it. Stirring everything together at the outset the way she did would have thrown my brain into a stall, but if you have a child with an engineer's brain like hers, I recommend these two sets. ... show more
