Works well. Easy to install with simple tools. I’ve noticed a little more engine noise and harmonics from the driver seat when the engine is at idle. I feel it is definitely opened up a very choked down engine and intake system. Simply put, it did what it said it would do and is working well.

I bought one of these for my gas engine Chevy pick-up when I had it and didn't get more torque, but did get the fuel mileage back that was lost when I lifted the truck. I bought this one for my new Chevy and definitely saw an impact on power and mileage for my 2008 Chevy Duramax. Put it on and WOW, noticeable difference in torque and 2-3mpg improvement overall. K&N is supposed to be top of the line with quality parts. Apparently for $400 you shouldn’t have ALL the parts. As soon as I received the package, I noticed that I didn’t have 2 mounting brackets, and the mass airflow sensor adapter and gasket, the 2 very important pieces. So I am sending it back immediately and I’m gonna order it 1 more time. EDIT: Second time around they send everything required for the installation. I’ve been using it for a couple months now through the summer and winter, its great. Makes my truck sound nice! ... show more

i installed this intake kit on my 2008 duramax yesterday very easy and quick install. noticed better throttle response right a way. ill be checking fuel millage in coming weeks. i run k&n filters in all of my vehicles and they are the best bang for the buck.

K&N is selling junk in the case of this air intake. One bolt is very difficult to access for top cover.(some reviewers simply left it out) To remove and re-insert the filter requires unbolting the intake tube. It's very difficult to bolt the intake tube in place with the filter in the box and the filter won't fit into place if the intake tube is fully installed. The air box is extremely thin steel and probably heats your intake air. Whoever engineered this should go back to school and shame on K&N for selling it. I will return this junk! ... show more
