I put these on as close as I could get to the boat. Took it to the ocean and launched and loaded the boat 6 different times. The guides helped so we did not have to hold ropes as I pulled the boat up the ramp...perfect guides. The instructions did say to put a small amount of glue on the cap. Drove the boat/trailer over 2500 miles in the last 2 months and they are solid. I may cut another slot for the higher position for the guide on the other side of the pipe but not dead set on doing that yet. ... show more

Great guide poles with a great price. Went together easily and securely. Worked flawlessly on my tracker grizzly jon boat. Only modification I did was to drill a hole at the top side of the pvc cap to equalize the pressure when backed in the water. Will have to say a lot of the negative reviews from people I read seem to fall into the (qualified captain) category. 😂 ... show more

Not all trailers are alike, so my review is with using a basic Trailstar bass boat trailer. The item arrived fine and the pieces are sturdy and pretty straight forward instructions. The problem is, our trailer has a V shape supports underneath so the installation of this onto our trailer allowed for the L metal piece to only go in half-way into the mounting bracket. Even though we cranked it down, after some bounces on the road we had to pull over and pickup the part off the road twice. The fix is an easy one and quite honestly, I feel should have been manufactured this way. We drilled a hole and inserted a bolt through the mounting bracket and the L shape metal so that the L shape cannot come out of the bracket. Since this modification, no issues and it works exactly as expected. ... show more

This is the 3rd or 4th set of rear guides I've installed on my trailer for my 14' Alumicraft fishing boat, and by far the best. It has heavier duty posts and mounting hardware than the CE Smith product. The heavier-duty mounting hardware doesn't bend when you tighten it down hard, which I found made these easier to adjust to be even on each side of the trailer - still a bit of a pain, requiring some OCD, but better than any others I've tried. Note that the nuts and screws are metric, not a problem for most of us these days. ... show more
