This product mounts perfectly on a vesa mount. This product does what it states it does. The knobs for the ballheads are too large. Ballheads need to be slid all the way forwards or to the back in order to tighten the ballhead.

    • Good sturdy shelf for webcam
After knocking my "gravity-mount" webcam off the top of my monitor, I searched for a shelf. This one is nice and sturdy, and came with a few extra ball mounts.

    • Works great
While the use of this is very specific since it doesn't allow much flexibility in terms of the exact height of your setup, it works amazingly for what it is designed for. I was able to easily get my camera and small light setup on my meeting monitor without having to add to the many things sitting on or clamped to the back of my desk. The shelf is solidly built and has proper mounting holes to align with standard 75 or 100 VESA holes, so it was easy to setup. The included ball heads are a nice to have, but aren't necessarily the highest quality. I personally replaced them with better ones I already had, but they would have been serviceable if necessary. Thought it looked like a pretty genius idea, and it does the base job perfectly. The ball mounts and those wing nuts though...you can see it in the picture (something I noticed after the fact) is the wing nuts are too wide...they run into the plate when you're trying to adjust them unless they're near an edge. Can work around it but it just seems like a bizarre oversight. I'm working to just remove them from use entirely. Unrelated to the mount, my main monitor has a recessed VESA mount...I 3D printed an adapter but keep this in mind. Most monitors are flush, but not all. ... show more

    • Another excellent idea from Ulanzi. Assembles in minutes. Works as promised.
I openly admit to being a Ulanzi fan. I own a number of their products and generally think they represent good value. This product, I think, reflects Ulanzi’s creative, innovative spirit. It’s a shelf that attaches to the VESA mount found on almost all, if not all, monitors and televisions sold today. It provides a platform above the monitor that can hold several items. Ulanzi supplies three small ballheads with the unit and their ads show them being used with a camera, light and mic, a combination I think most buyers will implement. That’s certainly what I’m doing with it. With Sony, Canon, Nikon and others making their cameras usable as webcams and new software available, it’s an opportunity to put a much better image out on Zoom and other services. The unit consists of two pieces, a vertical standard that attaches to your monitor stand with the VESA mount and a 15 inch long shelf that attaches to the vertical standard. Most of my install time (a few minutes) went to detaching my monitor from the stand. The vertical standard goes between the monitor and its upright. Ulanzi includes all necessary hardware: bolts and nuts to attach the shelf to the vertical standard and mounting knobs to fasten the monitor stand upright to the monitor. The shelf has three “H” shaped cutouts for mounting your accessories. There’s plenty of room to accommodate smaller cameras, lights and mics. Mounting hardware is also provided for that purpose. The assembled shelf and standard are very sturdy when bolted to the monitor standard. You can mount the shelf it its edge facing forward over the monitor or backward. This is really a great way to improve your video production quality. Use your phone or camera with an appropriate software package like Camo, add a good LED light and microphone and you’ll have video and audio far superior to what you get from your existing webcam.     • A must-have if you set up any equipment above/behind your monitor
I use my Sony A77m2 for vlogging, Zoom, What'sApp, etc. and it's been mounted on a pole, attached to the desk, behind my monitor. And it's been a pain. Always having to adjust things up and down as I change the monitor, or even my seating, position. But, it worked. But this monitor mounted platform works so much better. It really is a game changer. The camera, with a field monitor on it, sits right above the monitor, and everything moves together. The platform is reasonably lightweight, comes with short and long knob, VESA screws (I used the long ones because the VESA mount area, on the monitor, is recessed), has 3 mini ball heads, and lots of spots/ways to mount things. This is the first time I've seen a bracket like this and I have to say I'm very impressed. 5 stars. This is an excellent tool. ... show more

Brilliant idea and superior to the Smallrig and Fantaseal arms I had previously. There are two notable improvements I suggest: a shorter vertical panel that doesn't extend below the monitor, and different design for the ball heads so they can be placed anywhere on the plate and then adjusted. The length I 'fixed' with a bench vise and jigsaw. So the ball heads, an Allen key is already included, so it would be very clean to use the same screw on the ball head tension adjustment. The camera and lights won't be touched frequently after the install anyway. ... show more
