  • I don’t get the hate.

So, I’ll try to write a review to let you know what type of people will enjoy this game. Because honestly if I had read the reviews about this game before purchasing I likely would have skipped it. Which is a shame because I’m having fun with it. I understand why it’s not everyone’s preference, but I think the reviews are much too hard on it. One thing I’ll say is I haven’t beat the story yet, and cannot comment on the length of it. Some people say it’s short but I’m happy with the amount of time I’ve played at this point and if it were to end soon I’d be satisfied with it.(Disclaimer I did get it on sale instead of full price). First off if you are looking for a competitive fighter with deep gameplay, this is more of a casual game. This game is not Smash, Street Fighter, T.ekken or anything else that is tournament based and highly competitive. If you are the type of person who has played and enjoyed the Naruto Ninja Storm series etc. then you will likely enjoy the game. The same goes for many DBZ games. I will say that it’s more in depth with moves and variety than those though.I was disappointed with Black clover, and the My Hero Academia games, but find this much more enjoyable. It’s just not a game that has a lot that can combo together, but I have found some combos that work well with certain characters. The character selection is okay but not all that large, but most characters have a different enough play style to make it work out in my opinion. I can see myself playing it for longer than many anime games. The thing the game does differently than similar anime games is the way you inflict damage. Your standard light combo, and other melee moves build up energy that can be used to execute curse techniques. The curse techniques are what damages the opponent and lowers their life gauge. You also automatically use a standard curse technique if you complete a regular combo of 4 or 5 hits. That’s cool if you don’t particularly want to have to rely as much on big high risk attacks. Another way the game is unique is its tag team style attacks. Basically you or your teammate starts it with a launch attack and then the other person must do a follow up attack as the enemy is launched. It goes into a cutscene and inflicts decent damage. I have been playing it quite a while and unlocking things as I progress through the story. The story is pretty good, but consists of a lot of still plate scenes rather opposed to much video. So, this gives you an idea if you’re someone who should try the game or not, but you can often get it on sale, and if you’re interested at all I recommend trying it. Okay I will shut up now since my ADHD causes me to ramble, but I hope this is helpful to some of you. ... show more

  • One of the worst games Ive ever played
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
In December 2023 I got into the jjk franchise and in January I decided this game was worth a shot so I preordered it on Amazon and Oh boy was it just the definition of bad current day triple A titles. The game is riddled with bugs, the campaign is boring (its litearly just screen shots of the anime with strips of dialouge), the cutscenes are semi cool. The menu is the anime intro playing. I returned it around 2 days after launch. Only thing fun is the combat and even that was a bit flawed. ... show more
