Ngl, I should have just gotten the desk light version but this work pretty well with a little handling. I've been using it on my venus flytrap along with supple additional bits of sunlight. It usually gets cloudy when it's not summer in my area; and the product is keeping it well energized. At maximum setting, this thing registers 1000 lumens at point blank, 200 lumens at about 4 inches, 100 lumens at 1 foot. Not as powerful as other growlights but enough to get plants through winter. Spike bottom allows you to just install it in the soil but its not as sturdy and a bit wobbly (balance issue). Timer setting is a godsend. No need to manually turn it on and off.
