I wasn't sure what to expect when this arrived - I figured it would be a really thin glass that would break easily. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the glass is extremely thick and heavy. The base has a nice matte black finish to is, and it is simple to assemble and install. The included bulb is not very bright, but you can buy a brighter one - it is an E12. Just make sure it is not too long because there is not a lot of room inside left for the bulb. The only concern I have is the price - $180 is really expensive for a single sconce. ... show more

This set of rain drop wall sconces are really stunning. The glass thickens towards the base of the shade, giving an illusion of water inside the shade. The base is made of pure bronze, and the rod is made of pure copper. These wall sconces are made with the highest quality and are built to last. the price point is a little high, however given the quality they are well worth it. Don't under estimate the size of this. It's a LARGE, and heavy, solid piece of glass. Very clear, and bold and beautiful. Due to their size, these would be great for hanging on either side of a large feature in your home to frame it beautifully, like a fireplace or doorway. The brass color has a richer look to it, instead of a fake gold look you see on cheap fixtures. The brass on this is a more subdued, slightly grayish brass color that looks high-end and is very nice. One last note: due to the large amount of glass, these are heavier than just about any other sconce you might find, so the junction box needs to be solidly installed or else it may pull away from the wall. This is a superb light--every bit as handsome, heavy and cool as you think it might be. It's just a beautiful sconce, and the construction quality is fully as good as the light's looks. I got this from Amazon's Vine program which gives certain reviewers a product in return for their review of the product. When we got the light my wife and I were so pleased with it that we ordered and paid for another one in order to have a matched pair. It's a beautiful light. This is a classy light. If you like its looks on the product page, you will like it even more when you see and feel it in person. The one thing to bear in mind is that if you're using it as a replacement for sconces you already have installed you may need to raise the junction box to keep the bulb from hanging lower than you might like. Finally, I appreciate the seller's honesty in altering the product picture to reflect a concern I had. Honest sellers like this one are the best people to buy from on Amazon. ... show more

These are a nice set of thick glass wall sconces. They are easy to install, come with an LED lamp for either sconce, and the LEDs are compatible with an LED rated dimmer switch. Overall, I gave these a 4 start rating as the price seemed a little to the high side.
