It is early, but my daughter loves this bike. This is her first "mountain bike", but like many kids her largest hill to climb will probably be a gradual 10' pavement incline. The gear shift is pretty simple and a great starting spot for kids. I did have it "assembled" for $50 at my local bike shop. More specifically, I put the frame together (which was easy) and had them finalize the brakes. In my experience, getting the brakes right for any bike could always use a professional touch. If you go to a local bike shop, a beginner mountain bike is like $500. This is a nice price point for the suburbia bike rider and we can always upgrade once she grows out of this one. I did just hear about whoop bikes after the fact and would have considered that had I known...but too late now. Overall, great value for this beginner mountain bike for kids. ... show more

One of the bolts to hold the handle bars on was bent but still inserted in place loosely like it fit. It would not go more than 1/4 down. There was a chunk of the bracket grinded off that hold the front wheel on. And the worst was the front fork. This thing was welded crooked. One side sat more forward than the other. One of the brackets to mate with the bolt on the tire was welded off and was not straight. And the fork arms were welded too close together that they would not slide on the bolt for the front tire. I would have had to try and spread the fork at least 1/8 of an inch or more to slide the tire on (crooked due to the forks not being even). ... show more

Purchased for my daughter’s 7th birthday, she was of course ecstatic to receive. She enjoys going over curbs and down grassy terrain, and the tires seem to hold up well. She was a bit intimated at first as it is a larger bike to maneuver—it’s a wider steer and has taken her some time to get used to. Heavy bike but what disappoints me the most is the poor quality control. The disks are bent causing this brand new bike to have the wheels rub while trying to move. The paint was scratched as well. Shopping may have caused.the pain scratches but these discs appear to be bent during shipping.
