  • Fine for a beginner
Style: Sigle item Packing
If you have a kid that is just starting to learn piano it is fine. Just had to watch a few YouTube videos to figure out where middle C is and get some stickers to label the keys. When they get a touch more advanced they will need a damper pedal to possibly add to it. Looking for one of those now.

  • More than enough as a start piano set!
Style: Kit Packing
I am going to post a somewhat detailed review as I saw I noticed a few conflicts from what I experienced with this piano vs previous reviews I read. Is it possible that the manufacturer improved the product since it's launch? Possibly... but here goes. 1. The piano CAN handle it's own tones. As a matter of fact, even the lowest volume setting is more than suffice for most play instances. Even after raising the volume significantly, I was able to play bass tones without any problem with the grand piano tone. I did not experience a "buzzing" noise, but rather an internal vibration once when I played 1 bass key very loudly using a odd tone/timbre, oddly the other bass keys, even in lower range, played fine. Additionally, the vibration sound did not come from the speakers but from the piano housing itself since the piano is light and hollow. Not a common issue to worry about. 2. The stool is not made of plastic. It is definitely made of metal material aside from the seat cushion itself. It's very table and appears to be able to hold my weight without any problem. I weigh 170 lbs so it's more than enough for my daughter. 3. Yes, the piano songs are not that familiar but from my previous experience owning a children's Casio piano, it's all about the same. What I did like about the preloaded songs is that the goal the manufacturer was trying to reach was to provide a beat pattern rather than an actually fully loaded song. So in my opinion, it's a plus for advanced players who wish to practice chords and melodies over different types of patterns. 4. Keyboard stand was actually better than I expected because it was able to go low enough for my 9 year old daughter. I was previously using a high quality keyboard stand that I bought from a very respectable music store that was too high even on it's lowest setting. 5. BIG PRO: The keyboard plugs in seamlessly using an iPad camera adapter. I was able to synch it to the "Simply Piano" and "Synthesia" app. You do have to play with the midi input/output settings on the Synthesia app which basically makes the piano lighted keys respond to the songs you are looking to play on the app. Amazing feature on both the equipment and app side. And considering the Synthesia app is free makes it a huge bonus. 6. Unless you are looking to go pro, I can't see why a child would quickly grow out of a 61 key piano. Keys on the Joy are much lighter in weight and easier to press than the keys on my M-Audio 49 keyboard which I prefer since it's for a child. Most other light-up keyboards with midi capability costs $220 and up for the keyboard alone so this Joy bundle is the best bang for your buck in my opinion. ... show more

  • Good sounding 61 full size key keyboard with midi connectivity.
Style: Kit Packing
This product was hard to find online. The light up function doesn't seem very useful. The sound is pretty good and the touch sensitivity seems to work well. I will not be returning this keyboard, it is well worth about $130.

  • The sounds...
Style: Sigle item Packing
I really wanted to love this thing because of it's size, it has a pitch wheel, only found in more expensive keyboards. But, the built in sounds are too cheap sounding for me. My 1980 Casio had better sounds. But I would've used it as a MIDI controller but the pitch wheel does not work with anything else but its own sounds. If you're a beginner it may be fine for you, please get it! ... show more

  • Nice keyboard
Style: Sigle item Packing
Nice keyboard it has a large variety of sound effects to choose from a bit too many to pick from for my personal preference ideally you only need a few changes of tones like harpsichord, strings, harp, organs like dance electric pop jazz honky tonk and some chimes. This has them but I wouldn't use most of them and the keys are smaller they are very narrow for a kids size hand so it won't be good practice for someone getting used to the adaptation because if you were to switch to a regular size it might be harder to resume the current skill ability. I have a Casio and Yamaha but I was curious about the sound quality of the reputable brands versus what younger kids play and this measures good in comparison probably for younger people and the Casio keys light up red even when the tutorial isn't on which is neat to see the colors glowing but this keyboard didn't light up at all so maybe the keys are light to tapping or striking versus glowing. I will probably next time just buy the professional model because neither of them really have every quality I need more control for the duration of notes being played because they just don't end naturally enough. ... show more

  • A complete package at an impressively low price!
Style: Kit Packing
After having a bad experience with the Vangoa keyboard (NOT Touch Sensitive) I purchased this Joy Keyboard, stand & bench kit. This keyboard is a great buy and is full-featured with a surprising array of capabilities INCLUDING Touch Sensitive Keys. The keys are not weighted but do have a "real piano" feel. The sound is quite impressive and LOUD! Vast selection of voices and percussion with record, Midi & USB function and lighted keys. The only down-sides I can report are a lack of battery operation (the AC adapter IS included), a digital volume control (a knob would have been better) and the demo songs all being unknown Chinese tunes from the Hong Kong top 100 no doubt! Recognized two out of 65... Lol. It came with inexpensive headphones which arrived destroyed, but Amazon more than compensated me. There was a 3-month lead time on just the keyboard so I had to order the entire kit. I thought the bench and stand would be useless to me but I was quite wrong. I opened the bench expecting a flimsy kids seat only to find a very sturdily built stool. Foldable it was able to hold my ample 250 pound backside with no wobble at all. I haven't looked at the stand but I suspect similar quality. Overall this keyboard kit is a fantastic buy and should please both young starters and intermediate players alike! ... show more

  • Nicer looking than I anticipated
Style: Kit Packing
This keyboard is really nicely laid out. Controls are easy to understand, and the midi out is a plus also. Not to mention the pitch wheel..which is something you expect in much higher priced keyboards. Yes I agree with some the demos are not familiar but that's ok too, if you're just wanting to get used to following the notes. I got the kit including stand, seat and headphones. Seat seems plenty sturdy, and the stand is just the typical one so many offer these days. Headphones sound good, but they are seemingly geared to lower frequencies. But I'm guessing they are mostly tuned to the keyboard. Nice value all around :o) ... show more
