First off: This keyboard did not come with an external power supply despite the presence of a 4.8VDC input jack. You instead have to power it with four of your own AA size batteries. This keyboard powers on at a startlingly high volume and it does not remember the level it was left at. You CAN play multiple keys at a time (up to 5?) but they fade out rather quickly, there is no sustain if you keep holding the keys down, and there is some definite ghosting when playing chords (more on that later). Obviously the keys are not pressure sensitive as there is no difference in volume for a harder press. There is no capability to play along with the sample music; the keys don't respond when pressed while songs are playing. You can of course change songs or escape playing all together. There is a drumbeat function that does work for playing along, however it has its own issues. Some of the beats seemed....strange, especially for the types of songs that they were labeled to accompany. For example, the waltz key plays a 4/4 beat. Actually everything is a 4/4 beat. The microphone isn't the best in the world, you have to get really close to use it, but given that this is for toddlers, that may be a blessing in disguise. One of the things that I really appreciate is this keyboard plays a nice little jingle after about two minutes of inactivity to either recapture a toddler's attention (hah) or remind a supervising adult that it has been left on and can be shut off. This is a fantastic power saving feature that I really appreciate. The artwork on the top leaves something to be desired and I think I would have preferred something a little less psychedelic. On to the biggest issue I have with this: the ghosting issue. It is not possible to play a C-E-G-C chord without having a wayward D# electing to join in when the high C is pressed. This seems to happen on any chromatic shift of that particular chord, and other chords may be affected as well. To sum it up, I got this keyboard for my 1-year-old to play with. I didn't expect any miracles, and I didn't get any. but for $20, I don't think I could have expected much more than what I got. ... show more

This is a wonderful keyboard for kids. Music is so fun and this little keyboard has so many fun options. Besides the piano sounds, it also make other instrument sounds and you have a choice of backup beats to play along with. The keyboard comes with a small mic and and plastic stand for your music book and it comes with the instruction sheet to tell you which buttons make which sounds, but it's more fun just to push them and listen for yourself. I got this for my grandson and he's a bit young to learn to play the piano just yet but he's not to young to push the buttons and learn to make different sounds and silly songs with grandma. This would also be a great keyboard for older kids to learn the piano notes and simple songs on. The keyboard is powered by AA batteries which makes it nice to be able to carry it from room to room. My grandson and I give it 5 stars! ... show more
