The unit is mostly plastic and the led control module is mounted in unit with a piece of double back carpet tape. Very good for the price, but it's a little dim for me. I wish it's brighter. This light was packaged well and arrived on time. The overall appearance of the light is well represented in the item description. This light is incredibly bright and gives off a very white light. As a stand alone light, I would definitely encourage someone to purchase it (bathrooms, work area).
