These adjustable lamps installed easiliy OVER my existing trim rings in my six-inch recessed can lights. Since these lamps screw tight to the ceiling, they greatly reduce air flow through the cans {which is a major source of airflow from conditioned spaces to unconditioned spaces. The lamps are available in different color spectrums. The surface mounting gives a more modern, cleaned look that did my recessed bulbs. The modern LED lamps produce far less heat, and use much less power, than the halogen bulbs formerly used in my ceiling cans, and since my modest-size home has 40 of these recessed lights, the reduced power consumption adds up in energy savings. Since of my early-generation LED replacement lamps have lasted eight years, while some have lasted only about two years. I do hope these Jolux lamps will prove durable. ... show more
