These shorts seem to be made for tall and lanky folks rather than short and stout folks that also have muscle. They aren’t flattering in the least for my shape. They feel comfortable and the fabric is really soft but they are too long (for my taste) hitting the bottom of my knees and the thinness of the fabric shows all details underneath like underwear lines, in case that’s a concern for others. Light shows through. The thinness of the fabric allows them to breathe super well and they wick away moisture. They are very well and thoughtfully made for lots of movement with super stretchy fabric being placed at the points of high movement and rotation. The stitching and overall construction is also very well done. These shorts have nice craftsmanship with thoughtful design details, and they breathe and stretch very nicely.     • Great shorts, but the 2 front pockets are shallow

These are nice shorts but with almost unusable front pockets. The black is actually mesh, so there is ventilation in the crotch area and on the outside of the legs. They look good and fit well. It has a zippered cargo pocket on one side and flap covered cargo pocket on the other. And there's a zippered back pocket. However, the front pockets are shallow. They are about 5 1/2 inches deep, which is not deep enough for most phones. I don't think I'd feel comfortable with my keys in the front pockets if I were going somewhere. They are sewn in pockets so could have been deeper, so I'm not sure why they didn't just do that. Since they have cargo pockets, they are fine as shorts. But could easily be 5 stars with real front pockets. ... show more

I typically wear a 33W, but since these have an elastic waistband, I ordered a 32 and they fit pretty well. I was afraid a 34 would be too loose. I often run into this problem because odd sizes are hard to find. These shorts are comfortable and very lightweight; I counted 5 pockets, 2 are zippered and 1 has a Velcro flap. These check almost every box of what I like in a pair of shorts. They are lightweight. The fabric feels cool to the touch, and while it feels thin, it seems very durable. I'm not sure what the description means by "waterproof and quick dry". I imagine they aren't completely waterproof, but I can see these truly being quick drying. I mostly wear cargo shorts and they are all made of a thicker cotton type of fabric, so on hot days, they don't dissipate the heat well, and when they get wet, they take forever to dry. What is great about these shorts is that they will help keep me cool in the heat. It's what shorts should do because chances are if you're wearing shorts, it's probably hot out! I also like that the cargo pockets and the back pocket have zippers. Buttons and snaps and velcro all have their limitations, which zippers don't. I like that the waist has elastic, so it fits snugly, but it also has belt loops in case you need to go that route. Also, the button has a velcro next to it, which will help keep the button on longer (not easily pop off). I also like that the cargo pockets are low profile, meaning they stay flush with the shorts when they are empty. The only drawback I have with these is that the non-cargo pockets aren't very deep. I normally wear a size 36, but ordered a 38, which seems a "tad" loose, and probably should have just went with my normal size. These are elastic around the waist and should provide a great deal of stretch, so it all depends on how loose you like your shorts, I reckon. Wearing without a belt, I would definitely have to go down a size. Other than that, I find these to be really nice shorts, made from a really lightweight and comfortable material, something that should dry fast if one gets caught in a downpour or decides to go for a dip and forgets the ol' swim trunks. The pockets are nice and large, the smaller ones featuring a zip-to-close and the larger cargo pocket a velcro pad. Dislikes? I don't like plastic zippers, never have and never will, and although they appear to be the industry standard these days, especially on lightweight items, I just cannot accept them. Also, I don't like button closures for pants, preferring a metal hook or metal snap. Once again, plastic, ugh! Despite that, overall these are nice enough so that... Polyamide is a sheer smooth fabric, pretty much like the fabric windbreakers and raingear are made of. My waist size is 37, the vanished size. Choosing between 36 and 38 depends on the elasticity in the waist band. After reading the product info, I didn't feel comfortable going with the smaller size, so I ordered 38. Removing the pants from its trappings upon arrival, I slid the pants on without unfastening them. Well, they slid on too easy for me to be happy, but once I got them up and on, without a belt, surprisingly, they stayed in place, the stretch bands in the waist do relax the pants to a neat 37, probably close to 36, but not what I want to recommend. There are belt loops spaced evenly for a belt on which items can be attached. There are five pockets, two shallow pockets on the front of the pants, a back pocket with zipper, sufficiently deep for a wallet or phone--both can fit if you don't mind bulges--and two side pockets by a designer who could not make a firm decision, one pocket is cargo style with flap, held in place with Velcro instead of a button and the other pocket, pleated and unflappable, closes and opens by zipper. ... show more

    • For being cargo shorts, you can't fit a whole lot in these pockets.

The quality of the material is pretty good, and they fit alright. But when I think of "cargo shorts" I think of shorts not just with many pockets, but ones that are very loose and can hold a lot. The front 2 pockets are incredibly shallow. Can't even fit my phone in them, so what good are they?
