I bought this for the bent nib. Compared to the Sailor Fude de Mannen (55 degree), the Jinhao writes wetter and tends toward a wider line. The nib looks wider and seems to be more sharply bent. I can get thin lines with it, not quite as thin as the Sailor, but neither does it skip as much as the Sailor on fast strokes. It generally feels smoother than the Sailor. Just like my other Jinhao pens, this one is built beautifully and feels perfect. The color is indeed VERY pale blue, but it is very pretty and will be a nice addition to my pen collection. I’ll be inking it up and put in rotation this week for my September lineup.

I adore these little pens. They are such reliable writers. They are lightweight and fit so comfortably in petite hands. And the nub on both the EF and F is just superb.

These are pretty knock offs of Sailor Pro Gear Slim (I own two of those). I bought several of these Jinhaos in different colors. They write excellently! I was surprised at how well they work! The nibs are steel, but write very smoothly. I am very pleased with the 8 pens I bought in different colors. I will buy these as gifts too! I honestly like these more than the gold Sailor nibs which have too much feedback for my tastes. I wanted a broad stub nib in some of them so replaced with a steel #5 stub. All the nibs I tested in the pens I received worked perfectly immediately. The do not dry out quickly. No hard starts. The convertor is honestly better than ones I have for gold nib pens (Like Pilot - love the nibs, hate the convertor). As someone who has lots of fountain pens, several quite expensive gold nib pens too, I am really impressed with these cheap Jinhaos. Their quality far surpasses the price! If you're new to fountain pens, I highly recommend these. If you just love nice pens that write well, buy these. If you want the pretty colors, these are fantastic! I honestly can't think of any negative to these pens. (Just FYI they are on the shorter side, just like the Sailor PGS. I can write easily posted or with cap off.) I am including a picture of my Jinahos and two Sailors. They really do look so similar! I recommend these pens without hesitation! Jinhao 82 Acrylic Fountain Pen, Iridium Medium Nib with Ink Converter. The coffee colored pen was paired with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Brown ink creating a pleasing combination. A very nice fountain pen for the price point. I was looking for a simple fountain pen to carry out of the office. This pen is light weight, well balanced, and writes well especially on quality paper. With a variety of fountain pens in my collection, this has quickly become a favorite. A note to beginners and seasoned users, be sure to prep the nip prior to first use. For beginners, there are great YouTube videos from JetPens, Goulet Pens and Goldspot Pens on how to prep a nib. The process is easy, so don't let it stop you from enjoying this way of writing. The only quality issue was with the cap when the internal component with the band separated when posted. These are great inexpensive fountain pens. They look like the more expensive Sailor Pro Gear Slim pen at a fraction of the cost and write well. Great if you are going for the look for an everyday carry and won’t be crushed if you lose it.
