  • Easy and accurate.
This gage makes setting tablesaw blade and router bit heights much easier than setup blocks. Simple and requires no batteries. The large flat shelf makes it easier to use than the other digital gages. Highly recommended.

  • Good but for the price, can use some improvements
I have setup bars (kreg) and setup blocks and this gizmo for setting up the router bit to the correct height. Of the three, this is the easiest to use however, the fixed 1/16 gradations limit its usefulness. In case it's not obvious in the photo, there's notches on the measurement scale so it positively locks into position. Things I like: solidly made, wide base makes the tool stable when using to to set router bit height. Things I don't like: limited to 1/16th inch increments, on the tool I got, the measuring platform is not completely flush with the base when it's at position zero, it's proud by about the height of one of those thermal paper receipts (the one with BPA on them)--0.002 inches. I know, it's small, and probably within spec but enough that my fingers can tell the difference. I suppose if it bothered me more it should be easy enough to lap it flush. Workarounds: need increments in between --> put spacers (or setup blocks or pieces of feeler gauge) underneath the base or if you have a router lift, get it to the 1/16th increment closest measure and use the router lift scale to get to the correct height. My opinion of what would make this a 5-star tool: add a micrometer style adjustment similar their woodsabre product; allow the measuring platform to switch sides (or something similar) so it moves smoothly instead of locking to 1/16th increments; add a way to transfer a depth measurement from a depth gauge to the tool. Ideas, ideas. ... show more

  • Sloppy, and disappointing.
Was expecting a worm-drive gear to insure precision and exactness. No this is not a precision instrument. Its heavily made but isn't super adjustable. You turn the knob to move the measuring slide one way but the other way you have to move it manually. JessEm, normally builds rather nice equipment - this one needs a redesign. ... show more

  • I like it
Is on the pricey side. It seems to work well and saves a lot of guessing. It is built well, seems to very solid. I feel it will last a long time.

  • JesstGet one of these for your shop
Cant beat the quality of JessEm products. This is a multi purpose gauge that is easy and accurate and "no batteries required" as those cheap mass produced calipers. Highly recommend. Great seller providing quality and timely shipping.
