I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound produced by this small speaker. The base is quite good, the mid and high range is excellent. The battery play time is also more than satisfactory. Another nice feature is the ability to link two of the speakers for a truly stereo sound.

Portable little guy with great sound for its size and price. Holds a charge well. Has a little lighted bar near the power button that indicates relative amount of charge, which I find very helpful. Haven't used it outdoors, so not sure what volume would be like in that setting.

Great sound, love it! It's blue tooth is kinda shaky though, it wasn't connecting very well, some apps from my computer it could barley connect to at all. Outside of that, it's charge lasted long and sounds great!

I bought one of these as a gift for my son for Christmas a couple years ago. He recently moved into a new house, and I was doing some work there. He offered to let me use his FLIP 5 speaker to listen to some podcasts. I. Was. Amazed! My expectations for any of these little "pill-shaped" speakers were pretty low, but I was completely blown away by the quality and range of the sound from the FLIP 5! I have an iPod HiFi in my garage I've used for years, and it's solid, but it also weighs a good 20 pounds. I got my own FLIP 5 for Christmas this year, and I use it all the time. I continue to be amazed at how good it sounds, how well it works, and how long it lasts before a charge. JBL has always been a quality brand to me, but this just makes that opinion even more solid.
