I've been using this speaker for years in my shower. I've banged it around, I've dropped it, I've gotten shampoo in it, and it's survived it all easily. I've always been impressed with the battery life. The sound quality is good. I like the buttons on it so I can change songs and volume without my phone nearby. The bluetooth range is pretty good too, so I don't have to worry about keeping my phone close to it. The speaker has been very reliable and a big source of joy during my showers. After several years of heavy use, I'm starting to see the battery life decrease a little bit which is to be expected. So I ordered a replacement speaker while they were on sale. I'll probably continue to use my original speaker in another area of my house because it still works pretty well even though it's beginning to reach the end of its life. There are very few products that I am a loyal customer of. But this speaker? I love it. Several years from now when my replacement speaker is wearing out, I'll probably come back and purchase this same speaker for the third time. ... show more

I originally bought the JBL Flip 5 to keep on my boat, and it’s been absolutely perfect for days on the water. The sound quality is incredible—rich bass and clear highs in such a small, portable speaker. It’s also built tough, which is exactly what I need for outdoor adventures. The waterproof feature gives me peace of mind, whether it’s splashes from the river or an unexpected rain shower. But here’s the twist: my daughter loves it so much that I can barely use it!     • Great speaker but charging port broke quickly so don't skip the protection plan.

I liked how great the sound quality and volume was, the ease of use and portability, and quality of materials used. Sadly after very few uses the charging port quit working. I didn't think to check for manufacturer warranty at the time but it was well within the year, and was bumbed that I didn't buy the extra protection from Amazon. I ended up figuring out how to open up the device to try to repair it and the issue being that the port itself had become loose and I believe that it needed to either be replaced or soldered back together, but I didn't get that far yet because I have no experience doing this. I'm sure that this would have voided a warranty if I had done it during the warranty period so I wouldn't recommend this course. I do think this is a great choice of speaker to purchase, but best to 1) buy the protection plan, and 2) get a magnetic charging cable so that you don't have to plug and unplug the device instead you just leave the little plug end in and disconnect a magnetic cord from that. ... show more
