Let me start by saying that I am an audiophile, especially 2 channel. My go to speakers are Klipsch not the ones that rhyme with Rose. They are for popularity purposes and don’t sound good. With that said Klipsch does not make boat speakers and I have had JBL boat speakers for EVER, on our third boat, changed them all out for JBL. They sound great and are durable and MB’s are junk..they get hot and burn out. Wanted a good Bluetooth awhile back and went with a JBL Charge 3 in 2017. Wasn’t impressed with the Klipsch Bluetooth then. Well our Charge 3 just quit. Pretty good run. Could have changed out the battery I guess but decided to upgrade. It was a no brainer going with JBL again. Very reliable product. Decided to go bigger with the Boombox 2. Purchased on 2/10/24 and received on 2/11/24. We like to use this on the beach, dinghy, boat, all places. I must say after listening to the Boombox we might get kicked off the beach! Wow! Impressive sound! Don’t listen to others who are not audiophiles. I saw other posts about downloading the JBL app for improving sound with an equalizer….meh. We use Spotify which also has an equalizer…it does, look it up. Much better. Anyway…only had for one day but can’t wait for this summer!! ... show more

This speaker is awesome! It has great sound, volume is intense and the bass booms. Battery lasts just about as long as you'll need and it is simple to pair the Bluetooth. JBL made a great product and I hope they don't change a thing about it.

Very nice. Just got it, will update after several weeks... but, initial impressions: LOUD! Surprisingly good low end. Overall sound quality is decent. Previous reviewer claiming this is audiophile quality... um, no. Anyone can claim to be an audiophile. Sounds is harsh. EQ makes it better.

What a fantastic speaker! (I didn't know it was so big and heavy, but that's ok, worth it.) I've bought other JBL Bluetooth speakers and have always enjoyed the greatness. Then this BOOMBOX 2 caught my eye. It is absolutely amazing! It fills a room with terrific sound! Highly recommend!

I’ve had the JBL Charge 4 for 2 years and that little speaker packs a huge punch. But it was getting tired of 100% volume for 8 hours every day. So I opted for this monstrosity, got it for $250 on sale, and I’ve been playing it at 80% volume for 8 hours a day for about 5 months now. I love it, I’d highly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind the large size and heaviness. I personally don’t mind that part. The bass is unreal even at full volume. Any song I play on the boombox sounds better than the $600 sound system in my truck with doors closed! Battery lasts about 12 hours at near full volume, that’s a win for me. This could be used as a weapon if needed, as it would seriously hurt if swung at someone because it’s 40 pounds. I absolutely can’t say enough good things about this speaker. The only downside is if you have other JBL speakers, check the Bluetooth adaptability because it does NOT pair with my Charge 4. It would be nice if I could leave one inside and one outside, but it’s not the end of the world because I can hear the Boombox all across my 4000sqft work between walls and closed doors. Just buy it for Pete sake ... show more

This boombox produces good sound as you would expect from JBL. I bought this in hopes of getting more bass than some of the smaller portable speakers. The boombox itself gets loud, but the bass doesn’t hit as hard as I’d like. I like the idea of being able to connect it to other JBL speakers. I’ll probably try to find a subwoofer or other JBL speaker that has the party feature to increase the bass I get. And it is bigger and heavier than I expected. It is definitely not light and portable enough to carry in luggage when traveling. Also, there doesn’t appear to be a way to adjust the sound settings like bass and treble. ... show more
