These glasses are nice and heavy. Very masculine and sturdy. As far as giftable, I'd say highly, given the quality of each one of them.

    • beautiful, a tad thick
The JBHO Premium Crystal Whiskey Glasses, Animal Imprinted Double Old Fashioned Glass are very well made, sturdy and well shaped. I love the animals on the bottom as it makes it easy to tell whose glass is whose without having to use glass markers. The glasses have a good weight and feel and are comfortable to hold and also wide enough to fit oversized ice cubes. The animals aren't laser etched into the center of the glass (with a flush glass bottom), rather they are indentations. That makes a sort of fun fingerhold on the bottom of the glass, but I'm aslo concerned that soapy dishwasher water might pool in that indentation during the rinse / dry cycle and either not dry at all or dry cloudy. Time will tell if the animal shapes are a pain to get crystal clear. My final thought is that they are quite thick as far as glasses go. I chose a few other glasses from my cabinet to compare and found that the stemmed merlot glass was 1.2mm, a juice glass was 1.6mm, and a classic pint glass was 3.7mm. These whisky glasses are 3.1mm which makes them feel closer to a "pint glass the size and shape of a whisky glass" than to a super-thin fine crystal glass. I'm asked to rate it on sturdiness which is definitely high, but I'm not sure that's a go-to quality when choosing fine drinkware. ... show more

    • Whimsical Yet Impressive Whiskey Glasses
These glasses surprised me with how lovely they felt in my hands. They are heavy, yet easy to hold (even with my smaller hands). These aren't cheaply constructed glasses, and their quality is immediately obvious. The packaging for the glasses was very distinctive, with usage recommendations for venue or spirit of choice. This was a nice touch for people who are new to serving whiskey-based drinks, or for inspiring new recipes. The animal imprints on the bottom of the glasses were prominent enough to immediately notice, yet not gaudy enough to ruin the experience of a lovely scotch. These glasses have a lot of weight to them; they come in very thick foam packaging, and the box is impressive enough that this would make a great gift. The designs are pretty clear; you can see each of the animals when you've got the glass filled, and it's fun having my guests pick an animal glass when they're over. They match a set of similar, but unrelated mugs I have, which I find pretty fun (hipster animal mugs ftw!) and really fit my husband and I's style in general. The price for these is pretty high, but considering they're hand made, and flawless, it's comparable to other artisan goods, and I think it's reasonable relative to its value. ... show more

These are great whiskey glasses. They are the right size and a decent weight. I guess I was hoping for sharper looking images. These are fine just not as sharp as I was hoping for. Thus one star off.
