  • UPDATED REVIEW - An Unfortunate Disappointment
Color: Storm Metallic/Glacier
Background: I used the original Jaybird BlueBuds X for about 3 years for everything from running to everyday casual listening during commutes. They have recently finally started to suffer from issues holding a charge and I certainly got my money's worth. Since then, I was really excited about the truly wireless scene and bought a pair of the Jabra Active 65t's the moment they released. While the sound quality was great, I could not get them to stay in my ears, even when just walking and the charging case was clunky and cheaply constructed. I then gave the V-MODA - Forza Metallo Wireless earbuds a chance, and while the sound quality was excellent, the unnecessarily long cord was constantly getting in the way of my face and the heavy base that resides behind the neck kept slipping so I returned that as well. At this time, the X4's had just released and I was initially dissuaded by the early reviews on here. Eventually, I decided to give in and give it a shot for myself since I loved my original Jaybird X's so much. I'm very glad I did. The X4's: The Jaybird X4's are exactly what I was looking for in a pair of earbuds that I can both use on a daily basis for commuting and going out for a run after work. The sound quality is excellent, especially after tweaking the equalizer through the Jaybird app. The promised waterproofing is an excellent piece of mind, granted I haven't actually ran through a rain storm in them yet. Battery life had been consistent with what was promised. It fits very securely and I have complete confidence while running. The only flaw I noticed thus far was the cinch system that they swapped the cord management clips out for with this generation. While great on paper, it just gets in the way and snags when rotating my head. Luckily I still have the clips that were used in previous generations from my Jaybird X's that I swapped the cinch out for and that solved the problem completely. I also have another pair of clips on the way free of charge after contacting Jaybird directly to request them. Don't be dissuaded by the poor reviews. Give them a try and form your own opinion. -------------------------UPDATE------------------------------- I've now had these for 6 months and I unfortunately have to report that I can no longer recommend them, which is really disappointing. After only a few months, the battery life has already degraded substantially and now provides about half the duration it did initially. Additionally, the Bluetooth connection of the buds constantly get interrupted when I'm walking while connected to my phone that is 3 feet away in any of my pockets. I initially thought it was my phone as it was a couple of years old, but I just upgraded to the new Samsung S10E, and it produces the same exact result. Jaybird no longer produces high-quality products and I am now going to have to find something else. I suggest you do the same. ... show more

  • Battery wont hold a charge after 2 months of light use.
Color: Storm Metallic/Glacier
Garbage product. After a month of light usage the battery life shortened dramatically. Went from working for around 6 hours on a full charge to just 1-2. Then after 2 months the headphones won't even turn on. I have tried to return the product using logitech's website but the damn warranty page is "404 page not found" really terrible support on these as there is no direct way to access the warranty page going through link after link to just try and find it. Will definitely never be ordering these again. **UPDATE** Finally got through and sent the old pair back via RMA. Received a "new pair" and within the week the same issue has happened. The power button won't do a damn thing. I've listened to the charging instructions never charging on anything but my computer usb port and cleaning/drying them. However, the damn things just wont turn on reset or anything else. The LED shows green fully charged when I put it on the charger but they are completely unresponsive. I wish I could give zero stars but 1 it is.. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT. ... show more

After less than 2 weeks they won't turn on or charge. I expected more for the price and will be returning these today!

  • Sound quality just as good as Bose. Long battery life.
Color: Storm Metallic/Glacier
I've been a Bose headphones girl for about 10+ years now, but there are a lot of good comparison reviews between jaybirdsport X4 & Bose wireless headphones online. Costing a bit less than Bose also pushed me to try the Jaybird X4. I'm currently using them right now to listen to Weezer. I like that you can customize the EQ sound with the downloadable app. I like my music deep with a lot of bass. You are definitely going to want to do this step, as the preset sound was a bit too tinny for me. You don't have to keep the app open for the customized sound to stay which is nice. The fit isnt bad. I have ridiculously small ears so I'm glad they give you several interchangeable sizes to play around with. I prefer the silicone tips over the foam. I do think Bose is still #1 when it comes to feeling like you aren't wearing any headphones at all, but the Jaybirds don't cause me any discomfort, they stay in my ears and don't slip. As for longevity I guess time will tell. I've always gotten 6+ years out of my Bose wired headphones, so we will see how the Jaybirds hold up. I'm new to bluetooth headphones and will mainly be using mine for commuting on the train and at the office while doing data entry. ... show more

  • Mediocre
Color: Storm Metallic/Glacier
I’m a very athletic guy. I love to hit the gym a minimum of 5 days a week. I like to lift heavy and workout for hours at a time. With that being said I need a pair of headphones that not only sound great, but are comfy and can last as long as my gym session. These headphones do the bare minimum for me. If I leave my house with a full charge and head to the gym and stay there for 2 hours on full-blast, the battery will be at 40-50 percent. That’s just not enough. By the time I’m done my workout the following day they will be dead before that. If I’m moving around from left to right or jiggling my head, the wire will stick to the back of my neck and pull out the buds mid workout. It can get annoying. They are comfy when I have them in eat though. I will say that the sound quality is very nice and the sound isolation is even better. I do like zoning into my workouts and fully emersing myself in the music and the weights. It’s my therapy for the day. I give these headphones a solid 3 stars. They’re not that impressive for the money you’re going to spend. ... show more

  • Better than the X3 if you workout with them
Color: Storm Metallic/Glacier
This is a pretty strong upgrade from the X3 in terms of comfort and fit for anyone who uses these headphones to workout. Also with a better fit, I get better overall sound (highs and lows).
