    • Can you really have too much white vinyl?

I've been teaching an older relative to use her new Cricut machine this holiday week. I knew going into this venture that it was important that she was successful or else she might not ever use the machine once I left. So I requested this roll of JAVIGA white vinyl for her to have in her stash, because again, can you really ever have too much white vinyl AND I wanted her to have something to practice with. We ended making a number of insulated tumblers for various friends and family members and this JAVIGA came in quite handy. It was a learning curve for both as I had never dealt with permanent vinyl and she had never dealt with it at all, but suffice it to say, we had a pretty good experience with it. It cut well in the machine. We had some issue with the more delicate fonts, but I'm pretty sure that has to do with the machine and the design of the font more so than the vinyl. It lifted well with the transfer tape, but we initially had some issues getting it to lay down on the cup. Most of that, I think, was due to our inexperience, more so than the vinyl. Serifs, man! They're kind of a pain. Also wipe down that cup with alcohol to get rid any oils from your fingers and either wipe with a dry cloth, or wait patiently for it to dry. Again, learning curve. Would suggest this vinyl for your stash? Yes, I would. ... show more

The reviews for this product are very contradictory. My wife has a Cricut so uses a lot of vinyl. This vinyl isn't the thickest she has used but is still thick enough to work well. She had no trouble cutting, weeding it or pressing onto a variety of items. The vinyl is not see-through, as she put some on a purple glass and the color did not bleed through. She has bought some cheap vinyl at Dollar Tree, and this is so much better than that. She does feel it's a little pricey for 6 feet of vinyl, but still a quality product. ... show more

You can peel this vinyl with ease if you have a sharp blade. A dull blade will make separating the design from the backing difficult. I used this vinyl to make stickers for my Christmas cards. This is the worst vinyl I've used and I've used a lot. The cut pieces move all over while being cut and it does not weed well. The paper rips easily and half of it sticks to the mat. No wonder it was so cheap. Very disappointed that the ratings were so good because what I got was absolutely not what I was expecting based on reviews. The only thing I would use this for now is very large letters/images that don't need a lot of weeding and hopefully won't move around as much. I have no clue how well it adheres to anything because I've had to toss everything I've tried with it so far. ... show more
