battery works good, but be careful disconnecting old battery. Left joycon ribbon cable is near connector and I dislodged that, now I will have to re-open/close switch, which is 1/2 battle (or more). Takes time with hairdrer to loosen old battery (not product issue but adds to process)

Great battery, Bad tools. If you're not careful you will strip screw heads or the tool itself cause its made of cheap Chinese alloy

    • A new lease of life for an old or well used Nintendo Switch
Safe to say, one reason I wanted to hold off on getting a Switch was because I had concerns about how well the battery would hold up. Given my usage with stuff like phones and the PSP, I had no reason to believe that I'd be doing anything other than "renting" the console at about $300/yr USD, even if I had it dedicated for use on a TV. When I finally did get one that I could do what I was hoping for, Saint's Row 4 was pretty demanding, so I would run out of juice pretty quick going through the campaign and its many side quests. Replacing the battery was apparently a good thing of when I did. The old one almost folded on itself when it came time to pry it out, and the provided tools were adequate. Not as great as a dedicated standalone kit, but they proved effective for both the battery replacement, and when it came time to reuse them for modding the shell later. Didn't see much of an improvement with saint's row, but did see more with stuff like Pokémon snap and no more heroes. So, there is that. No complaints from the console. And it helps that at least unless the oled model changes things, the battery should be the same across the board. I may have wished for an extended one; but the fresh battery is proving to be just enough to get through break time at work, even with demanding games. ... show more

    • Not bad you just have to be patient.
Have to replace the battery I found it was easier to remove all those little tiny screws rather than to put them back in - that's where your patient comes in.. The kit comes with a few extra screws in case you lose one. There were several different types of screws so it's important that you either mark the screws as you're removing them. I used little shot glasses to separate them. ... show more

Take the time to watch a few YouTube videos, get this product and save$$$!! Our Nintendo Switch was not turning on and not charging. We purchased this kit. It comes with everything you will need. The instructions were easy to follow. It's working great now!!

Ordered this to try and fix my Switch, it came with all the necessary parts and easy to understand instructions. I can’t review the actual battery because my Switch is still not working so it had other problems, but overall the whole kit was really good quality.
