The variety is really nice (Apple, Cherry, Pecan, and Hickory) as you have choices based on the kind of meat you are smoking. The wood is well aged, and the chunks are a perfect size as you can add as much as you need for the cook. I'm using these on a 22" Weber with the Slow and Sear, and the results are fantastic. Very impressed with the flavor from the Black cherry! I was hesitant at first because I did not know what it would taste like with chicken or fish but I cook my wife and I chicken and fish and it gives it a very sweet but smoky flavor it’s indescribable thank you will be shopping again!

No splinters or chips in the bag at all. It's all measured and closely sized chunks of wood. A chef once told me "consistency of cut is consistency of Cook." It's the same in smoking foods. if you want to provide the same smoke intensity, this product would allow you to do that because it's so consistently uniform. ... show more

The picture of the product clearly shows intentionally debarked chunks of wood which would expect from a premium brand as you don't want to smoke with bark or knots as they impart a bitter flavor. As you can see from the pictures almost every single piece of wood in the Apple and hickory bag had bark on them as well as very large knots which is a very poor quality smoking wood. ... show more
