  • Solid, product is exactly what it says it is.
Model: IX-MI04
It's a little expensive, except it holds up well.

  • Flexible, Quiet, and Secure
Model: IX-MI04
The IXTECH microphone boom arm stands out for its impressive flexibility and strength, easily supporting my Blue Yeti mic and even headphones. It operates quietly, allowing for smooth, silent adjustments with user-friendly settings. The standout feature is the secure vice grip that attaches perfectly to my standup desk, preventing any bouncing or wobbling during use. Thoughtful design touches like cable management and universal compatibility make it a top choice for creators seeking quality and reliability. ... show more

  • Mixed feelings - love the low profile but it's unattractive and feels cheap
Model: IX-MI04
This review is for the High Profile Captain Mic Boom Arm. I've struggled to write this review because I've had a hard time being objective and knowing how to rate it. I love the low profile but totally not in love with the looks or feel of it. For context, I have two very slick, expensive mic booms from other big brands. And on those arms I have two classic Blue Yeti mics. I love the way the boom arms look -- sleek, refined, understated. But the overhead mic position annoys me. It's difficult to get it out of the picture and now that I've switch to filming with my iPhone using Camera Continuity, the framing of the shot is thrown out of whack by the overhead mic. I've been curious about using a low profile mic but was reluctant to spend the money experimenting. [Having the mic on a stand on my desk is definitely a no-go.] Pros: - very easy to pull out & position or fold up and tuck out of the way - low profile allow me to position my Blue Yeti mic in front of me for great sound pickup without getting in camera view or interfering with keyboard use - easy to mount my mic using different styles of shock mount - the clamp is sturdy and stays in place very well Cons: - I find it extremely unattractive - the funky, unnecessary angles and cheap metal - the mic cable channel is not well designed and the cable doesn't stay tucked in - the little extra plastic cable guides are cheap, look stupid, and can't be installed as shown on the instructions So here's my final assessment: - if you're unsatisfied with your overhead boom arm and curious about a low profile arm, do it! - if you like the looks of this arm, buy it! - if you want a low profile arm but don't particularly like the looks of this one, get something else. It looks even worse in person than it does in the photos. ... show more

  • 9.5/10 - better than more expensive brands!
Model: IX-MI04
I needed a boom arm for my Shure SM7B that was versatile not just in positioning the arm, but in vertical adjustment. Beforehand, I purchased a Gator Frameworks 3000 boom arm and didn't realize that this arm was limited to vertical positioning (sucks because it wasn't cheap!) So, I was in the pursuit of a new arm and lo and behold, this one hit it on the nail! PROS: - Extremely sturdy and didn't slide off my desk like the Gator boom - Super easy to install, even has an extension arm for further reach - Stable - hasn't moved an inch - Cost-effective against competitors - no need to waste more for limited features, this is enough! CONS: - The vertical positioning ball needs to be adjusted where the cutoff is holding the weight. If you just position the mic with the rolling ball open in the bottom, it will fall, but just takes some adjustment, nothing too hard (see photo) - The 3/8 adapter got stuck to my SM7B adapter so I suggest putting some lube or WD-40! It was a mission to take off, I had to ask my husband lol. Overall, 9.5/10 and great buy! ... show more

  • Quality Boom Arm
Model: IX-MI04A
I recently bought a Microphone Stand for Blue Yeti with Shock Mount, Adjustable Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand. The problem was that the arms were too short for my desk setup. I found the IXTECH captain pro and thought that I would try it. This is a great microphone arm. I was able to set it up behind my monitor and it's the perfect length and height for my 27.5 inches wide desk. The build quality is good and it has a grove built in for cable management, plus it came with a phone holder. If you are looking for a boom style microphone arm, you can't go wrong with this one. ... show more

  • Hampered by one cheap part
Model: IX-MI04A
Overall a great mic arm - I can position it however I need it and shove it out of the way when I don't, it mounts securely to my glass desktop, it holds up a fairly heavy capsule mic with shock mount and pop filter with no complaints. The cable channel and headphone holder are nice touches, and it's mostly made of nice solid metal parts. Except one. The ball joint that actually attaches to the microphone is cheap plastic and can't hold nearly the weight that the armature itself can, so essentially it offers a strong stable arm with a limp sagging wrist, no matter how hard I tighten down the screw. Maybe it would be a better experience with a lighter microphone - mine is on the heavy side, but it doesn't exceed the specs of the arm - and because it's otherwise good quality. Replacing this one 50 cent plastic part with a slightly sturdier equivalent would instantly make this a 5 star product. ... show more

  • Works Great
Model: IX-MI04A
Over the years I've had a lot of mic boom arms but I have to say that this one is the best! Sturdy, nice tight feel, quiet, and stays in place even when I accidentally bump it. Keeps my mic cable organized and out fo the way and bridges comfortably over my mixing board and recorder. GREAT BOOM!

  • Everything I could've asked for
Model: IX-MI04A
It's stable, holds to my desk well, doesn't drift with time, and fits excellently with my monitor setup. Installation was a little difficult, but the results were more than worth it.
