Item is easy to assemble, and I didn't swear once while putting it together. I lose patience with self assembly and usually get pretty angry ads scream at the directions because they make absolutely no sense. This was not the case with this bookshelf. The instructions are actually decent. And it is sturdy, with thick, heavy shelves. The metal is t chintzy either. I'm a pretty tall person, and I have to reach above my head to reach the top shelf (only about and inch above my head). I love the support structure in the middle so my partner and I have a definitive line of what part of the bookshelf is mine and what side is Thiers. I really do recommend this exact bookshelf. I'm glad I made this drunken impulse buy! Of course I was going to buy a bookshelf, but I literally bought to without reading any of the specs. It just looked so attractive! I ordered this unit, and it arrived 3 days early. My friend just happened to be at my house (lucky her!) We assembled this 70x53 shelving unit in probably less than a half an hour! It was very easy! It filled the space perfectly. It seems very sturdy. So much so, we decided to not use the cross bars on the back. I think they are for extra support, but I prefer the look without them. It is still plenty sturdy. (I don't have little kids that will be hanging on it or anything.) I can always add them if need be later. ... show more

Still decorating the book shelf. I Love it! Very well built. I do recommend securing it to the wall especially if you have kids. The price was great I got it for around 180$ would definitely recommend!

Purchased IRONCK Industrial bookcase July 8. It arrived on July 15 and was missing a vital part which prevented assembly of item. Amazon will not help you, you must go to Ironck. It is all via email, no phone number to talk with representative. After many emails, yesterday, July 29 the replacement piece arrive and we were able to put this together. Very easy to assemble, clear directions "in English". It is beautiful, exactly as pictured. I would love another industrial bookcase from IRONCK but fear delivery difficulty with shipping info in Vietnamese. I assembled this myself and it was by far the easiest piece of furniture to put together. Instructions good, took maybe 2 hours. I assembled it on the floor and stood it up from there. I have not yet stuck it to the wall, as it seems sturdy enough without that (no kids or earthquakes here)

I was head over heels for the single-wide model, so I couldn't resist upgrading to "the double wide." Let me tell you, and it's absolutely fantastic!
