    • A motorcycle hoodie offering a moderate level of protection

Let's address the elephant in the room. While this might appear like a motorcycle jacket at first, it's really a hoodie. It must be worn over the head like one and just because it might be more form-fitting than the convention doesn't magically turn it into a jacket. I ordered XXL after reading the comments from other reviewers and I'd have to agree that this jacket/hoodie does run at least a size smaller so FYI. The hoodie or "jacket" itself is comprised of two parts: the inner "puffer jacket" and the outer hoodie itself. This inner puffer jacket is also a hoodie and filled with nylon, not down or feather. That said, this combo offers great warmth when worn together at the end of the day. The windbreaker material on the outer hoodie does work incredible well in protecting the wearer from thermal loss from driving around in the cold. To close, this is a great motorcycle hoodie that offers the wearer a moderate level of protection to the most vulnerable parts of the torso. While it won't do much against direct impact, CE armor will definitely go a long way in preventing the road from sanding your skin to shreds. That said, I ended up deducting a point as the hoodie form does make it hard or even unseemly of a task to take off in public. This is truly more of a winter jacket than a summer jacket, as it has no breather holes (vents) and is a pull-over hoodie, not a zip up jacket. It really does fit as stated, I got an XXL, and I am an XXL with everything from T-shirts to hoodies and jackets. Without the liner it fits a little loose, which means this product's sizing is designed to have the liner. It you want a tight-fitting armored hoodie, get one size lower and do not use the liner. It is good to see China finally start getting US sizing right, it's only been about 20 years for them to realize US sizing is US-only sizing. A XXXL in America is a Large in Europe, and a Small in the US is a XXL in Taiwan, and so on. I plan to go for a ride with this tomorrow, I'll update this review accordingly. The armor pads are some of the best I have seen, and I have bought professional armor pads before. And they are easy to install. If you get a tighter fitting size, you can massage the pads into place before your ride and they should stay there until you eat pavement, which is hopefully never. UPDATE: I went for a ride with this jacket. It is definitely a winter, wet weather jacket. It holds in all of your body heat and lets no air in. I put in the liner to be able to give it a full, accurate review. With the liner it really is an exact XXL. Without the liner it fits almost like a XXXL, which is what you should expect in proper textile sizing. So, if you plan to use it for summer only get one size smaller. It is designed to be sized with the liner. I would say this jacket (with the liner) should be good for down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. I found the vents; they are in the under arm. It is a zipper vent that goes from the middle of the arm over the entire under arm and down to the mid torso. Pretty good place for a vent. ******* Update after a month of usage****** I am raising my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I REALL like this jacket. I appreciate the design touches a lot more. The side zippers allow you to open it up even more so I air can breathe more when stopped and not overheat when I don't take the jacket off. I like the little snap to help keep the hood down when not wearing it. The fit is super comfortable. We had our first cold snap (in the 50's from the 90's) and it is surprisingly warm even without the liner. It seals very well around your body. The armor seems to fit well to my body when riding. I may upgrade to CE2 armor. The pockets for the armor seem made just for their armor so I may need to trim a bit. The upside to that is their armor nicely stays in place. Honestly, I never thought I'd buy a pullover riding jacket but I am glad I got this one. ******* Original review I sort of bought this on a whim. I probably have 6 motorcycle jackets. I really like this. I wear an XL shirt and I ordered XXL. It is very snug on me. I am losing weight so I'll gain some room but I can't wear the inner shell yet. Overall I like this a lot. Most of the armor is CE2 rated but the back isn't rated at all. I'll add a better back piece. I'd limit this more for city use and lower speed riding. I don't think it will take a highspeed fall and have the fabric not shred. It should hold together to handle your first hit and let the pads work for you. I am fine with those limitation and to use in more of a touring situation. It is incredibly comfy and looks well made. It is getting cooler now and I can find a lot of situations where this would be a great option. I can't rate it 5 stars but it is a solid 4 stars. This might be a great jacket for a lot of people. I'll probably use it on one of my faster ebikes as well. ... show more

There is no zipper on what is essentially a wetsuit. Imagine a hoodie that doesn’t stretch and is form fitted. Now try to put it on. It’s warm enough sure. You will be sweating. And when the sweating starts there will be nothing you can do about it because it takes 3 grown men to get you in or out of it. You get what you pay for I guess. ... show more
