These seem fairly well made and come with all the parts you would probably need to install them. The directions show some recommended bracing and building directions but don't really show much as far as what is needed on the bottom of a stand for this to be suitable. I guess they assume you have other plans for this or have an existing blind to put on this or will figure out your own base platform for the blind. The paint on these seems decent and they also have eyelets for connecting stabilizing cables, etc though these seem a bit thin for my liking. ... show more

I have built so many deer stands and/or blinds over my life that I couldn't begin to count them so when this came up, I thought I would have to give it a try. Once this set arrived, I was instantly impressed and was asking myself why I couldn't have found these years ago. While I won't be assembling a stand yet, my years (decades actually) of experience both in stand building as well as carpentry tells me that these are a quality set of brackets. They are designed to angle the 4x4 brace at the perfect angle (I mounted one temporarily on a 4x4 to see) so that with all four they will create a stable base for the platform. From there you simply mount your platform or the frame for it on the triangle braces and finish up with your own supports as needed. Really this is an awesome thing to have and will simplify your stand building immensely while also allowing you to move your stand away from having to rely on permanent features like trees. In addition to all of this, they even provide you with the nuts, screws, and bolts necessary for mounting the lumber. If you are looking for stand building assistance, I would strongly suggest you give this set a try. ... show more

Two major issues others have mentioned: 1. The fit of a 4x4 is way too loose. Without making your own shims, you cannot maintain axial alignment of the post with the bracket. 2. All of the lower holes in the upper connection (which would be your floor frame) are so close to the edge they break out when you drill the pilot holes. Not sure what application I could recommend these brackets for. Certainly not an elevated hunting blind or anything for children. ... show more

I've been shopping for an affordable set of elevator brackets for a tree house/ hunting stand but wasn't sure if I wanted to invest in brackets or attack directly to supports. I saw this product and immediately order it as it was affordable and provides complete corner support on your flooring rather than hanging on a single side of the floor frame. This kit is great as it also comes with the hardware to install immediately, as long as you have the lumber on hand.
