I've been searching for a two-door carrier with latching sides (as opposed to screws) and thought this would fit the bill. I've read too many horror stories about the top or front latch popping open as the carrier flexed due to the pet's weight, so I wanted to make sure this would securely handle our 10-pound cat. When I manually applied a small amount of pressure to the bottom of the carrier, the door immediately popped out of its top socket. With my 10-pound cat inside, the carrier flexed badly enough that I'm pretty sure one sudden move from a panicked cat will pop the door. The door has additional plastic "latches" at the top and bottom that are supposed to prevent this from happening, but since the carrier itself is flexing, these don't help at all.
