Two large boxes arrived via Fed Ex—-in good shape may I add. My son was here to help me with them and all went well. He took out the pieces and it was assembled easily except for getting the arm brackets aligned with brackets on the chair. This is where I eventually came in handy😊we put the chair on its side and it seemed to go better for us. All the components were there so it took very little time to plug everything in. And it all worked!!! Love the color of my new power lift chair. I am very happy that I am able to adjust it so I can easily stand now without rocking back and for momentum to stand. Also being able to adjust top and bottom alone is nice. No more wrenching my shoulder to raise and lower it. Having spinal stenosis made it very difficult to use the old recliner. Just the push of a bottom now to adjust. The massage is like an exaggerated cats purr. Heat is nice too! It felt rather hard to sit in initially but doesn’t take long before I had it broke in. Also seems a bit wobbly when raising and lowering, but to be expected I think. All in all I am quit happy with my chair. I got it in about 5 days which I thought was pretty amazing. The extra pillow is being used for my head as my head is not comfortable without it as it falls into the indentation part of the back. Oh yes my feet hang off except when i have it fully extended. I don’t think it is a chair for a tall person in my opinion. Having purchased this sight unseen, I am quite happy with it. Shipped so quickly, I received it like a week before the estimated date. The box containing the motor is HEAVY. 111 pounds. So if you have to put it upstairs, please be aware of the weight. We bought this chair because I am having surgery and will basically be living in the chair for 8 weeks, day and night, and needed a chair that would "help" me get up and back in. I have a really old normal recliner that I have slept in many a night and it works good for that, but it is impossible to get out of without help, so we needed something different. Keep in mind, this is my experience and all bodies are different. What is uncomfortable for me may not be uncomfortable for you. Pros - easy to put together. - dual motor so the back and the feet are independent of each other - loved the massage and heat so much! - lift feature worked as it should and made getting up a breeze - lift was not too slow. I've tried a few lift chairs and this one was my favorite as far as speed. Cons - the enormous gap between the seat cushion and the back is uncomfortable and annoying (the further you recline, the bigger the gap gets) And although they provide a pillow, it does not fit in the gap well or comfortably - I prefer a chair that lifts my legs a bit more. The only way to have my legs in a comfortable position I had to have a big pillow under my knees and calves. - there is no back / lumbar support. - the back cushions when sitting were okay, but not good when laying down. It was so uncomfortable. I slept in it one night and was hurting so much. I was miserable for days after. All that said, Irene House was amazing as far as customer service. Based on their customer service, I would buy from them again and would recommend them to others. So if this chair will work for you, by all means, go for it! The chair itself gets a 3 star from me because of how uncomfortable it was, and the customer service adds another. ... show more

I called the company before purchasing this lift chair. I wasn't sure how it would ship (we live in a very remote area in the country) and if I could put together the chair myself (66 year-old woman). The customer service representative shared with me a video that is posted on the company's website to watch and explained the chair would be shipped FEDEX Ground with two boxes. FedEX delivers to my home ... Hooray! The video was very self explanatory and gave me confidence I could do it! I called customer service another time after assembling the chair for an explanation of what the small mat that came with the chair was and she explained it was for the seat of the chair for those customer who needed that. Overall the chair looks great, works as described and my husband is very happy with it! Best of all, the customer service is excellent! Very helpful when you call or message them. They quickly respond and provide excellent information. Thank you so much for making my husband's life a little easier! ... show more

This chair was a little hard to assemble for people over 70 because of its weight but was accomplished is about two hours. It was worth the wait because it looks very contemporary for a lift chair. The recliner does go completely flat if that is what you are looking for. Everything moves smoothly and your can move the back separate from the foot rest. The heat and massage work very well too. A lot of settings for the massage, even from the base of the spine to your neck. The heat is just enough. I highly recommend this even though you cannot try it out in a store. The other reviews were correct. Buy it-- just have someone help you put it together as it is heavy especially the seat portion. I love it.... ... show more

Chair was bought for my husband who had undergone major surgery. I needed it ASAP and wrote to the seller to see if there was any shipping options for me to receive it faster, Jessica was so quick to respond and got the order out that next day and the chair arrived the day after that. PLUS, it looks great, is easy to use and assembled so quickly. I purchased the red-brown color, it is a beautiful looking finish and a nice design, very comfortable too. It came with a lumber pillow in a coordinating print, which I may have overlooked in the description but it is pretty.
