  • Lots of fun. Great for beginner.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this mainly for my kids so they can play on their own and practice some basic techniques. We have been using it for a couple weeks now and so far I am pretty happy with the purchase. The machine is fairly easily to set up. Once it is set up you will need to learn how to operate the remote. It let you adjust the spin and frequency. I didnt use the oscillation feature much yet but it does work. The hopper holds about 60 to 70 balls. The lowest frequency setting gives you about a 3 minute session. The max frequency actually gets quite fun. It shoots the balls out really fast and it is fun to see the kids try to hit as many as possible. The only thing I didnt like about the machine is its consistency. The first ball always land in the wrong spot and shoot off the table for some reasons. The balls afterward land roughly in the same spot, maybe within a 3in diameter circle. I just wish the landing would get closer to 1 inch so it is more accurate for practice purpose. All in all it is a great price and a great product. ... show more

  • The iPong 300 is like a first date
The first few dates with someone can be clunky and that's how iPong and I started out. She was mean to me right out of the gate - she spit that first ball at me like I made her pay for dinner. All kidding aside, read the instructions on this. I messed up initially because I j just poured all of the balls into the funnel without starting it up FIRSt. Nothing came out, it jammed. I then read some reviews online and found out that you are supposed to start it up first, get the wheel running, then add the balls, THEN press play once you're in position. Once I did that, it was fine. But, as I said above, the first ball usually comes out like straight fire and doesn't even hit the table but after that, it's fine. It also doesn't spit every ball out, every time but I can live with that. One thing that is annoying but obviously no fault of the product, is hitting the machine with your shots. The balls then ricochet all over the garage so make sure that you are placing your shots on either side of the iPong. I also bought a net to put on the table but the first couple of rounds, due to poor placement of my shots, more balls went off the table than on because I keep hitting the machine. So far the remote works fine. Down the road as I get better and can afford it, I will probably buy a nicer one. But for my skill level - intermediate - this one works fine for the price. I recommend it but make sure you are prepared for her fastball right away. ... show more

  • Waste of money
The first time we tried to used it simply didn't worked. We used the recommended balls and watched tutorials videos and the balls got stuck. I returned to Amazon and decided to give it another chance, at first started to work fine but then exactly 35 days later simply stop working and now I can't returned because the return window close. Don't waste your money, look for other options. ... show more

  • Helps train the skilled and novice
I decided to try it to get back into table tennis after being away from it for a number of years. After doing some research I focused on the Ipong trainers as they seemed to fall into my price range. My first purchase was the topspin which prompted me to get the Ipong practice net, so as not to be chasing and retrieving balls. After being away so long it was comforting to be back at the table only to realize the muscles most used are those leg muscles used squatting and retrieving balls. Boy were those sore. Well to make a long story short the wife surprised me with the model v300 as a Christmas gift. the unit goes together as easily as the top spin model. Basically the unit was in 3 sections which easily slide together with a minimum amount of effort and you hitting balls in no time. The advantages over the topspin version were numerous. It allows for adjustment of topspin , bottom spin and the frequency of ball delivery or serve and speed of the serve. As a novice this is still a bit overwhelming to me but I have tried most of the variations. It will take me some time to not only master the use of this trainer, but to also learn what it has to teach me. The v300 comes with wireless remote control and power supply, while the topspin you need to purchase a power supply. In short I would highly recommend. ... show more

  • it decides that it doesn't feel like oscillating, until it suddenly does
It works well enough, but it still sometimes jams, and then suddenly 3 balls just fall out. Sometimes when you set it to oscillate, it decides that it doesn't feel like oscillating, until it suddenly does. The trajectory is also pretty inconsistent. Sometimes it clips the net, sometimes it hits close to the back of the table, sometimes it hits just fine. It's also a little weird having to adjust the back/top spin together. For example, if you want just a regular shot, you have to set back and top spin to the same speed, and how high you set both of those determines how fast the ball will shoot out. Anything below 3/3 won't clear the net unless you push the machine closer to the net. However, it does work well, and once you figure out the quirks, it becomes great for practicing. I do not regret my purchase, especially considering what other similar machines on the market cost. ... show more
