  • Stronger signal than earlier versions
I bought a set of 3 Eero mesh pods in 2021. I've had issues with my internet being intermittent. I thought that the addition of an Eero 6 would resolve the problem. I had to call customer support as the new Eero wasn't connecting properly. The technician spent 2 hours on the phone with me and we patiently troubleshooted multiple issues. I really like my Eero mesh system and the technical support was vital to success. ... show more

  • Good way to improve your WiFi network with a caveat
Let's start saying that this product work as it is supposed and is very easy to setup but not all devices like them. I live in a typical Suburb House with a Basement, ground floor and upper level where there is a Home Office. I use AT&T fiber because is a Passive Optical Network and the modem can (and is) powered using a 12 VDC battery power supply. I have all NEST & RING cameras powered with batteries too and before eero I used MEDIALINK WiFi routers, that for several years worked great but each floor level had a different network and was really annoying to remember that sometimes we had to adjust the phone or tablet as we moved to different levels. These MEDIALINK devices also work with 12 VDC so in the event of an outage I got the peace of mind that neither the Internet service or my internal network will give me an outage. The last utility power issue we had left the house for 6 hours without power but we could still work on our laptops, tablets, etc. I decided on eero because of some reviews but also feedback from other users. For the initial setup each camera was hooked into a UPS to prevent issues until I could power them with batteries. The first thing I noticed when the system was setup is that a couple of NEST cameras, one YAMAHA receiver and my Canon 7500 printer did not like this network, had to temporarily stop the 5GHz section until these devices joined the network. After everything was setup I purchased some 12 VDC to USB power adapters so I could move the cameras to a more reliable power source. I picked the eero I installed in the basement for a try but to my surprise none of the adapters I purchased, some of them the same I use to power the Nest cameras, worked for the eero. As soon as I plug the USB-C cable to the eero a yellow light starts to blink indicating that there is a power supply problem. I also tried using different cables and USB power supplies, each one of them gave the same issue. I researched on the eero site and they do not offer a 12 VDC adapter and wont use a power inverter due to un efficiency. So far the eero devices are powered by APC UPSs but if a power outage hit us won't be able to get more than 20 minutes of power. This certainly the most concerning issue and from my perspective is a drawback for the eero design team. ... show more

  • It Really works well
I have a problematic area for wifi reception for one of my outdoor cameras. After I installed the Eero wifi extender, the problem has been greatly reduced. Not perfect but much better!

  • Just what I needed
I had just gotten a new internet provider who set me up with the eero 6 network, and it seemed like everything was coming up just fine as the technician left. Of course, when I was checking all of my Ring cameras later, some were not getting a strong signal. Some of my Amazon echos were not connecting because of the weak signal strength. In the suggestions on the Ring app, it said to expand the network using eero. I also noticed that eero is an Amazon company. Thank goodness for that because of the support and integration all Amazon devices have. I knew what to do. I went on the Amazon site and ordered this extender. After reading some of the troubles some reviewers had, I set aside all afternoon to get it connected. However, since I already had an eero 6 network, I just ordered the extender. I literally plugged it in where it was not near other electronics that could interfere. I opened the eero app on my phone, logged in to my eero account I had setup the day before and clicked on the plus to add another device to my network. The app found my extender and connected within a minute. On the phone app, it said updates were available, so I allowed it to update which took about 5 minutes. After that, I was good to go. My television in my workshop connected immediately, I could setup the FireTV stick that I had purchased the day before but could not connect because of the weak signal, and all my Amazon/Ring devices have very strong wifi connections. I could not be happier. ... show more
