  • Great for tubing
Style: Explorer 200
I bought this to put our cooler in for tubing. It works great!! We can also put whatever garbage we have also so it doesn't fall out into the river. The quality is great, the size is perfect, you can easily tie the tubes up to it .

  • Great value for calm water. Use the oars as a kayak paddle!
Style: Explorer 200 Set
I bought a couple of these for some entry-level fatbike pack rafting with a friend. The raft rolls up into about the size of a small tent or sleeping bag, and is easily strapped down to a cargo rack. When inflated, it's big enough for one person to sit in, and a 40-lb fatbike can be set on top of your feet without falling off or tipping the raft. I even strapped it down using the oar anchors and the anchor at the front. We took them down the proverbial "lazy river" and had lots of trouble navigating with the oars (although we had never rowed before). We quickly reassembled the oars into makeshift kayak paddles and it was much more manageable. Even pleasant! One raft got a hole after running over a piece of concrete at the shore, so be careful. The included patch did an ok job, but get some Coghlan's Airstop if you really need it to hold air. We then took them out to open water on a large lake. The waves and boat wakes were over a foot tall for most of it, but even with a bike on the top of each raft, we didn't have stability issues. Just turn into any big waves and it's surprisingly stable. However, the oars are not heavy duty enough to be doing lots of paddling, and you can't put a lot of power through them. Both of our paddles were showing stress marks and bending after pushing out from the beach and paddling for a few miles on the open water. The air pumps work well but take a while- we counted about 650 pumps for the raft. They will also double as bilge pumps if you get water inside! Overall, we determined these "toy" rafts were not well suited to open water, but usable in a pinch. These rafts are a great value but best suited to a river, pool or other calm water conditions. They work well with a steady river current as well, so you don't have to paddle for propulsion. If you're going to be paddling them, think about getting a "real" kayak paddle, and definitely carry a bottle of PVC sealant if you're going to be near pointy underwater objects! ... show more

  • Still floating after 2 seasons
Style: Explorer 200
I can fit all 3 grandkids in the boat (7 and under) and float them around the pool. I had paddles (not included with raft) and they like to paddle around my built in pool. I would buy this item again, it is very sturdy and provides hours of fun...they pretend they are on the river.

  • Great price for the size
Style: Explorer 200
We got this when it was on a great deal. We also got it start of winter so we haven't used it a ton. But we did get it inflated and toddler approved. On a nice winter day we did let them float out on the lake our friends have on their property. It is a massive hit! They love floating on the water and "rowing" (we moved the boat as we weren't going to let them float by themselves.) It is super cute and fun. As they get older and learn more about water safety I can see us tying a rope to it and letting them float more on their own. We haven't tried with any adults so I cannot speak to weight and adults being in the boat. It's only been toddlers (1,3, 5) ... show more

  • Great boat.
Style: Explorer 300 Set
Great boat for the money. Bought for my grandkids. They liked it so much bought another for my other younger grandkids. It would fit 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 younger kids. For the money it's definitely worth it.

  • The pump was completely absent.
Style: Explorer 300 Set
As the title says, I got a full set, which is supposed to come with an air pump to help fill the boat; The air pump is no-where to be seen. I was forced to blow it up manually, which took like twenty minutes. After I got it filled, the experience was very pleasant. The boat is comfortable, and relatively easy to row around. The material seems to be of a high quality. I would be giving this five out of five stars, if not for the fact that I didn't get the air pump. ... show more

  • Great for solo rides! Here's some extra tips for usage though...
Style: Explorer 200 Set
When this went on discount, I was over the moon! I had thought all summer about buying a kayak to spend some time out on the nearby lake, and this was perfect for a solo adventure. I'm about 5'2" and this was the perfect size for me. Not sure how Intex thinks this is a 2-person, unless those riders are both smaller kids. This boat wouldn't last a second out on the ocean, but for a tight budget and someone new to boating, it's a wonderful first step. Now, this boat isn't perfect, but here's some tips to help lengthen your use of this: - Inflation: Included with this boat is a small, manual hand pump, much like one would use for balloons. Let me put it simply...this pump is BAD. I'm not sure why Intex thinks this is a suitable pump, to be honest. I tried using it and it took me 45 minutes of continuous pumping to fully inflate it. Do yourself a favor and purchase a 12v electric pump for use with this, and you'll save a ton of time. Just make sure you buy one with an "inflatables" nozzle on it. Intex makes ones that work with your car's cigarette lighter and/or a standard outlet plugin, and it's great to have around for other floats, too! - Holes/Durability: Included with this is a small yellow square that looks like a sticker -- this is a patch, hold onto it! Once you receive your boat, inflate it right away to check for leaks. This also allows the vinyl to stretch before you hit the water. If you apply pressure and feel it losing air, don't trash it right away! If the hole is 1 inch or smaller in size, the included patch will work just fine. If it's more towards 4 inches, nab a Wet seal patch kit from your local brick & mortar -- they use these for pool liners, and a pack of 3 is usually in the $5 range. If your hole/damage is bigger than this, you'll likely need to reach out for a return/replacement. Intex warranties are usually 30 days (or nonexistant) for this boat, as its a cheaper item. - General usage: I used the included oars and kept them in the plastic holes on the sides, as instructed, and it just plain old did not work. The included oars are low-quality (to be expected from a $10 boat) but they CAN work. I ended up just rowing with them outside their instructed area. Happy boating, everyone! ... show more
