  • Maybe $300 for an entire summer of pool
Size: 10' x 30" Color: Blue
I set it up on the edge of my uncovered patio about a foot away from the grass to protect from the lawn mower. Easy to set up. I should have done a better job of making the bottom flat. I added the chairs just to help protect. The quality is very good. My 7 and 5 year old kick off the sidewalks and it does not rip. Sometimes they jump from the white poles and it holds up fine. I wouldn’t allow any heavier kids to do that. The foot of space from the grass was enough to set the pump and hoses down. I bought the intex cover, net, and vacuum hose attachment. The cover doesn’t work as well as I’d hoped as it is not tight. It sags when it gets hot, too. The net and vacuum are a must. The pump runs once a day at the same time you originally turned it on. Only needs 4 hours a day. Very quiet. My 7 and 5 year old don’t need a ladder but it would be nice. I fill it to 24 inches at the “deep end” as my patio slopes down away from the house. You don’t want the birds to be able to sit at the edge and dip their beaks. I do a deep clean once a week where I add a new tablet, use the vacuum attachment, clean the filter with a hose. Takes an hour. The pool has given new purpose to my back yard. It doesn’t matter how hot it is outside. They can go outside and jump in. Pool with pump, net, vacuum, cover, and tablets and I’m under $300. I will have to eventually buy more tablets and I’m considering getting the 1000 gph pump with skimmer but this thing is so low maintenance I’d be doing more out of intrigue. Plus the skimmer hangs on the edge and takes pool space away. We’ll see. Fun easy little project, kids love it, 4 adults fit easy, low maintenance. ... show more

  • Best purchase ever!
Size: 12' x 30" Color: Blue
I almost never write reviews but in this case, when I am so pleased with a product, I feel compelled. I have four children who love to swim. They are 1, 4, 7 and 10. They know how to swim (except the one year old) but I don't feel comfortable letting them in a pool that is over there heads without myself or wife in it. Problem is, they would be in the water all day, and I'm not always in the mood! This pool was the perfect compromise! At only 30" deep they can all stand up in it and at 12' round its big! They don't realize it's a kids pool. To them it's like a 54" above ground pool would be for an adult. They are in it all day every day and I don't have to be in there with them. here are some pros and cons and some recommendations. Pros: Assemble is sooo easy. Took me a half hour. As with any pool it should be on level ground. I didn't have a perfectly level spot in my yard so I set it up as level as possible and it's fine.(water is a little higher on one side, no biggy) I wasn't about to level the yard for a pool that I didn't know anything about. Next year I will! Because of its size you can take it down and store it for the winter and not have to worry about winterizing Perfect size for kids! They can send up and swim! The frame is strong! We didn't get a ladder. The kids hop over the side. They can hand and sit on it. It's very strong! Because of its size, it warms up pretty quick, about a day after filling to get to a good temp. The liner is thick. Not sure what the mil size is but it feels heavy. Cons: The filter! I've seen bigger filters on fish tanks! It uses a cartridge that has to be cleaned often and it doesn't flow much. No skimmer. The filter will clean the water(eventually) but will not remove debris from the top of the water. Water quality can go downhill quick! This could be partially my fault for not monitoring the water as often as I should but after it rains, if it's in direct sunlight often or if you have a lot of people in it, the chlorine levels can drop and it can go green real fast. My recommendations Along with the pool you will need a skimming net, a vaccuum that works with a garden hose, water test kit, the solar cover, a chlorine floating dispenser, quick dissolving chlorine tabs, and I would highly recommend getting the sand master 71225 filter and the index skimmer. The filter is so powerful it creates a small whirlpool which causes any debris on the floor to collect in the middle of the poll which makes it easy to vacuum up. Plus it's rated for 9000 gallons and is super easy to clean. Just flip the valve to backwash and your done! You'll end up spending about another $200 with these upgrades but totally worth it! Keep the filter running, add a tab or two a day and you'll have crystal clear water all summer! ... show more

  • A solid pool for your family.
Size: 12' x 30" Color: Blue
I've had this up a few days and so far, it's really great. The kid loves it, it was quick to assemble - round about 20 minutes - and fairly intuitive. The material looks strong and held up to the dog flopping in and her claws. The pump that came with it doesn't seem to want to work period but I'll be contacting Intex about that if not upgrading it to one that can actually handle the water flow of the pool properly. I didn't need a permit which someone else here stated they needed because I was taking it down at the end of summer, so make sure to check with your varying municipalities if you are buying this. Some may demand a permit and a fence. My patio isn't perfectly level, seems to be off an inch, from one side of the pool to the other but that doesn't seem to be affecting it yet but will keep an eye on it. Make sure to get a ladder, and a cover for it at the minimum, as well as something to keep the water clean. It took about a good 3-4 hours to fill with my garden hose, I'l probably b wincing at my water bill but by far, hands down, this has been a good investment for my family and no regrets getting it. The deduction of one star is for the pump and depending on how Intex deals with it, will determine whether it gets a 4 still or up to a 5. **UPDATE** July 1st, 2016 So we're in the middle of another season with this pool. I confess, I treated it badly after I took it down. Didn't bother to fold it, just took it, dumped water - I hooked a tiny hose up to the pool and got suction going and drained as much as I could before popping the drain open to let it drain out the last of it given where the pool was - and forgot about it. y son had decided to toss a few chlorine pucks in and bleached a section of the pool, there were a few small holes from hat I presume to be dog claws or just it not taking well to mistreatment while winter in Iowa set in. So come two weeks before memorial weekend, I got it out, turned it upside down on top of all my various garbage, recycling and leaf cans and sat under to get a good look for holes. I had some leftover vinyl from the patch kit, but the glue was horrible. So I just used some clear bathroom caulk and that solved the problem real well - Also, really good for the two spontaneous leaks I had between then and now. Plug the pool side, dry it off quick, smear with caulk, put on the patch, hold for thirty second and boom. Done. I did upgrade the pump to the 1,500 gallon pump because honestly, the pump that came with it just couldn't keep up with the needs of the pool. If you buy this pool, invest the 50 to 60 bucks more for the better pump and sell the one that came with this on craigslist or something. The hoses were bigger than the supplied ones but they make adaptors - much cheaper to buy those from intex directly! - and invested in valve stoppers too, to make changing/flushing the filters a lot easier. Also get the solar cover, but skip the plastic cover that "covers" the pool completely, the solar cover will do you well enough. All in all, I still love this pool. It still serves my son well and He's had a few parties in it this year. I would still give this 5/5 but I had to upgrade the pump and the accessories with it as well. Take care of this pool, and it's gonna do you for quite a while it would seem. Worthwhile investment. But still look into your city's restrictions to make sure whether you can put this up or not. In my city, so long as it didn't remain up all year round, you took it down in the fall, you didn't need a fence or any other restrictions. But call your city permit office to make sure! ... show more
