  • Just what we needed!
Perfect as behind-the-couch bar tables...it was actually quite a challenge to find a console table wide/deep enough for this use. I purchased 2, both are as described, the simple design allows for plenty of leg room (many console tables this wide have a cross support between the legs). I will be sanding and sealing them - I love the look but I already see a bit of staining from drinks/foods, the wood is definitely quite porous and prone to staining. My couch is 86"L, 30"H. I was worried, having read some reviews that mentioned mold and smells, but both the tables I received were very clean, had minimal dust, and the faint factory odor was gone in a few days. ... show more

  • Nice table.
Great customizable table. Used behind couch as a bar for extra seating! Sanded it down and stained it. Comes with instruction on proper method for sanding. Sturdy.

  • Perfect!
Size: 48 in Style: Table
This table really was as easy to put together as everyone says. Literally eight bolts and done. Maybe five minutes total. I ended up staining mine, and adding gold stripes in a modern pattern using Rub 'n Buff. This is a great weekend project, and I'm so happy with the results. Great product at a great price. I would buy again in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Love it
Size: 48 in Style: Table
Great price and great quality. I know this is a sofa table, but I bought it to use as a small place to sit and chat or drink coffee in our kitchen that wasn’t quite big enough for a full table or island. It’s the only sofa table I found that would work for this and wasn’t too expensive. I found 24” stools that fit perfectly under them, though I may try some sort of riser to make it a scooch higher for leg room. I used a danish oil to finish and protect the table and the wood looks great. Easy assembly... my son who is 7 put it together because he likes to help. Uploaded a pic... we’re mid renovations so excuse the background. Love this table. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and finish
Size: 72 in Style: Table
We found this same table on another website for more money. We were happy to find it on Amazon and delivery was quicker than the estimate. The table is sanded very smooth and ready to finish. We stained the top and painted the bottom. On the top, there were a couple small areas that didn’t take the stain as readily that just needed some touch up. I’m not sure if that was the wood or just my application. In the end, it turned out great. ... show more

  • Perfect size, nice price! A little fussy to stain...
I needed a long table for my foyer. I have an antique barn window I wanted to put on it and I needed it to match my original existing cherry woodwork. I couldn't really afford some of the items I saw, so I figured I would try this one. It worked quite well! It is made of parawood, aka rubberwood. I don't really know woods that well, but I think this is a fast growing sustainable wood, like bamboo is, which is reflected in the lower price (compared to something like cherry or oak.) it is made up of smaller pieces glued together. Some reviews of this type of thing mentioned that people had trouble with glue spots. I wet mine first to see if I had any glue areas because those spots wouldn't take stain well. I did not. Be sure to let it dry before staining. I had dark gel stain so I tested it on the underside first. Wiped it on, then off like you do with stain. You can see in my photo that while it did darken it, it wasn't close to "dark"...more like a walnut or dark oak. And the grain showed heavily through, which made it look almost butcher block...not what I was going for. Even if I left it on for a long time or tried to build coats. It wouldn't get darker. What my solution was, was to put the gel on very thick. Almost like you do when you make a steel door look like wood. You get some grain by thinning it out sufficiently with your brush to see some wood through (I didn't want that coarse grain look from a training tool.) And you don't wipe it off. It is almost like, painting, just with thinner coats. I had to do 2 coats all over and even a 3rd here and there to get the finer grain look I wanted. Don't obscure all the wood, you want some grain. After it was all dry, I put a few coats of gloss polyurethane on it, lightly sanding between coats to get it smooth. I used crumpled up brown paper for the final sanding. I really like the way it turned out. I am no expert finisher, so mine isn't like glass, but it is close. And it matches my other woodwork! I already got lots of compliments on it over thanksgiving! ... show more

  • Nice piece
I browsed console tables for months, couldn't find a finished table with the size, color or price I wanted. Then we found this very nice but unfinished wood table in the perfect size! I stained using an old oak color, then coated. We wanted to match our other furniture and the stain worked perfectly. A great find and a great addition to our home. It would be even nicer if it had one or two drawers, but this will do. ... show more

  • Sturdy but not fine furniture
If I had planned to use this table out in the open, I would have returned it. Since it is between the back of my sofa and the wall, I decided to keep it. The legs attach to the apron under the tabletop with two bolts each and only go on one way. One or more of the attachment points are misaligned, and when I put the legs on, two legs on one side of the table were 1.5" farther apart from each other than the other side. Because of the disparity, it required furniture leveling feet to be used on each leg. In addition, the apron (attached to the underside of the tabletop) is 1/2" off center. There is barely any overhang on one side of the table. Lastly, the wood is better suited for paint or a dark mahogany or walnut stain. The table top is made of 2.5" x 8-10" pieces, joined and planed. It looks a bit like someone's floor that was repurposed. If that is the look you are going for, then you'll like it. It is a sturdy table and a good price for the size; however, if you are not able to deal with shims, levelers, etc, or if you want it for an open area, you may want to pay a bit more for a better made item. ... show more
