  • much cheaper than a complete pannel
Color: Gray
These look OEM when installed. they feel a little "loose" but function just fine. We have broken two handles on one of our Silverado pickups and these save a ton over the GM repair of replacing the entire door panel. I can't say how durable they are yet but the first one has been in place for about 3 months now with no issues. This is not simple quick task. You have to remove the door panel obviously. then remove the plastic spot welds to remove the old one, then glue and screw this one in place. We used a lot of epoxy to make it as strong as possible. ... show more

  • Silverado door mechanism
Color: Black
The product came as ordered, and assembled fine, However, I didn’t use the superglue that came with it, to attach the 2 plates together, Instead I used self tapping screws to connect both plates.

  • Fixed my silverado
Color: Black
Fit and worked great on my 2012 silverado. I did add a couple other screws to help make it stronger.

  • Don't buy this if you're not a skilled DIY-er
Color: Black
The theory behind this part is sound, and it's a great concept on its face, but it has some serious problems with execution. What you're supposed to do is remove the interior door panel from your truck, and use the very handy included drill bit to remove the plastic caps holding the old handle in place. Unfortunately, the design of the door panel and the contortions necessary to remove it, mean that the mounting studs are likely to break before you get that far, leaving nothing to mount the new handle assmembly to. If you're able to get the old handle off without breaking the studs, then installing the new handle is fairly straightforward. Glue and screws, and it's attached to the door panel. If you *do* break the studs, you'll have to get more creative. I used four threaded inserts in the handle assembly and two tapped holes in the door frame, and now there are nice stainless steel screws visible on the inside of the door. The next step in attaching the actual handle (the part you pull) to the assembly. In theory you just snap it on, and a spring-loaded pin locks it in place. In practice this proved impossible. The pin wouldn't retract at all when I first tried. I added grease, thinking that some lubrication would make it easier. The grease helped, and the pin did retract some when I tried to install the handle, but it would not retract far enough to allow the handle to slide on. I ended up removing the spring-loaded pin entirely, and replacing it with a threaded insert and set screw. The screw head is visible on the bottom of the door handle, but it holds fast. If you are a skilled DIY-er, and have the ability to improvise on the fly, this is a good item. It's significantly less expensive than an OEM replacement, but you'll have to be handy to make it work. ... show more

  • Lasted about a week
Color: Black
I installed this it worked for about a week before it failed. Where the cable passes through the plastic hole before attaching the end of the cable with the ball to the handle mechanism is where it failed. That plastic hole it passes through needs to hold the cable's casing in place so that when you turn the door handle it pulls the cable to unlatch the door. If the cheap plastic doesn't hold the cable in place there is not enough tension and you are back at square one. I regret not paying more to just buy the dorman version of this because replacing this is a hassle. ... show more
