I got this because I was tired of having a big screen at my computer desk behind the couch at my house, and wanted something I could travel with also. This works like a champ on my chromebook, and also works on all of my laptops. It really was plug and play. It is a single wire operation for my chromebook, meaning I don't have to hook it up to power, and it worked with HDMI and usb-c to my one laptop, and my second laptop I hooked up the HDMI and had to hook it into the power block that it came with. The one thing that really surprised me, which honestly I was not expecting, was how thin it is. It even comes with a nice little sleeve. The only thing that concerns me is that it is so thin and I can just throw it in my laptop bag, and it might break. To solve that, I put it in the same case that my Chromebook is in to give it a little bit of extra protection. I don't know what everybody is talking about it being dim, because as you can see, it is just as bright, if not brighter, then my chromebook. The other neat thing I did not even think about until I got it, was my wife and I can watch the same movie on separate screens. We spent the night at a hotel out of town last week, and we were each able to hold a screen to watch a movie. (My eleys are bad, so need it farther away) I would not have figured this out, but I could not figure out how to cast my screen to the hotel tv. All in all, this was a great find for me, and now I am just a bit more productive on the road with work as I have two screens now. One little tidbit of tech support help would be to make sure you change the resolution to match what your computer or Chromebook is. I got really frustrated and thought I did something wrong because my mouse was moving super slow. Turned out I had the resolution set super high. I just dialed it down to what my Chromebook resolution was, and the mouse worked without any problems at all. I had the smaller version and bought the 15.6 now that we are hybrid. Very useful when in a conference room with people on Zoom. I can present or watch the presentation on one screen and have notes on the other screen. Also useful for demonstrating the new software we are using over Zoom seeing as how the portable monitor is bigger than my laptop. Easily worked as plug and play and got the touchscreen working with no issue as long as I used the USB C cable (I use an HP Laptop for work and have a Surface 7 Pro for personal). Monitor wouldn't turn on once or twice, but I was not using any power supplies on laptop or monitor and my laptop was probably low. Looks like I need the monitor plugged into power when I use my Surface. Works great otherwise. Picture is clearer now that I figured out the menu brightness was set to low. Very sturdy kickstand. It does cover the ports when closed, but it flips up the other way if I have it connected and have to pack up in a hurry. It just sits better when flipped down over the ports. I looked at other brands online and the reviews said their kickstands were flimsy or the ports were in the kickstand and I was nervous about breaking wire/connections opening/closing the stand if I got those models. This sits very sturdy in horizontal or vertical positions. Comes with a sleeve, but would have liked a case/cover of some type. I chipped the bottom, but that is completely my fault as I accidentally banged it HARD against the edge of the table and it hit at a spot that didn't have the silicone bumper. Still works great though and seems well made. Liked it enough to give it 5 stars AND bought another one in case the chip spreads (I really need it for those software demonstrations). Pricey, but love that it's easy to use, picture is clear, works horizontally and vertically, and super convenient that it's so lightweight for its size. ... show more

    • If you have a MacBook Pro and you want Touch functionality, keep looking (unfortunately)
I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro (Intel), and was looking for a 4k touchscreen portable that would give me (at least most) touchscreen functionality. More or less I'm looking for business functions, scrolling up/down or left/right on Excel, read web pages and word docs, work in Visio diagrams, etc. I selected this monitor due to the "10-point touch" support, the 4k resolution, brightness (600 NITs!!) and the overall appearance. The price was very competitive, and the description gives the impression that as long as you're using a USB-C (thunderbolt III in my case). When I unboxed this unit it is very nice looking, very sleek and elegant. Once I connected it with the supplied cable I was not disappointed in the picture quality, the touch-enabled OSM is very usable. That's where the good kinda ended. When I tried to use the touch feature I found that only left click taps work. Scrolling is non-existent, if you move your finger all it will do is highlight/select the in-window text. Even simple scrolling of a website can't be done, unless you're very good at tapping the slider bar portion of the window. Absolutely a waste of time for any user, and a waste of money spent for the "touchscreen" feature. I reached out to their customer support (email), and kudos to them, they replied within a couple hours each time (that's not a dig, it was faster that normal for this type of support). I did some online reading and found that there's a common driver that you can install for Mac's, and around a dozen or so other manufactures offer it on their websites (but only for 'their' hardware. So I emailed them with a question about the driver and if InnoView offered it, or what did they suggest. The first reply was that "no driver was necessary" and they included a video of how to connect it. So I responded with greater details of what it was doing, what I had read and even what I saw several examples on YouTube. It was the 2nd reply that took the cake for me. They said that the functionality I had was all I could possibly get, and that it was Apple's fault, not theirs (not according to YouTube videos I found where other vendors had all of these functions working). Then they suggested that I obtain a Windows-based PC to enjoy their monitor with. --wow, just wow-- I had the return order placed within the hour, had it boxed up and back at the UPS store before lunch. I made sure to select "did not function as described on website" as the reason for return. I will purchase a different monitor from another vendor, even if it costs me considerably more. Two stars - because it was a nice screen, had a good feel, and support was prompt in responding, but that's being pretty generous. Suffice it to say I'll never purchase another Innoview product again, and I'll tell all my friends....... ... show more
