  • Amazing instrument and great value
I got this beautiful EWI at a discounted price during the Black Friday weekend, and I wasn't expecting much for this price. I had previously owned an Akai EWI USB and was a little frustrated for its absence of a speaker or audio output, which is addressed by this instrument by incorporating a 10-Watt speaker with a loud and crisp sound. Pros: - Very affordable, as other EWIs sell for 3-5 times the price - Very light and easy to handle and learn, with long battery life and beautifully built - Mouthpiece is easy to remove and clean and it even comes with a second mouthpiece - Integrated speaker with clear and loud sound - 2 audio outputs, one is 3.5 mm (headphone) and one is 1/4 inch (line out) - lots of high quality voices, my favorites are alto sax, clarinet and oboe - configurable fingering, though I've only used the saxophone one - Bluetooth input, which makes it very helpful for playing backing tracks from your phone during practice or performance Cons: - No MIDI, which for me it's not a big deal as I also own a couple more wind MIDI controllers - poorly written user manual, and instructions have inverted audio outputs, claiming the 3.5mm connector is for line out and the 1/4 inch one is for headphones, which is the other way around - no case, so I had to purchase a soft protecting case separately - the provided neck strap is ugly and low quality, so I ordered another one In summary, I am very happy with my purchase, and anticipate heavy and extensive use. This is in my opinion a real gem for beginner wannabe amateur musicians like me, but I think real musicians with more experience with wind instruments should stick to reputable EWIS such as the EWI Solo or the Aerophone. ... show more

  • I love it!
I have a bunch of instruments that I just kinda lost interest in but this instrument is magic. I actually want to learn how to play it good and I’d even be willing to quit smoking to enjoy it for the duration. I had high hopes do to the price and I’m super excited that it’s worth the price, staying awake over 24 hours, and stalking the Amazon driver. ... show more

  • Fun to play instrument at a good price
I Recently purchased the INGPARTNER EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) because I wanted to learn to play the recorder but my fingers were too large for a soprano recorder and they always squeaked if the fingers didn’t cover the holes just right. I could have chosen a more expensive EWI, but many of the features they offered such as MIDI control, I had no use for. I am quite satisfied with my purchase but I did want to write this review so that others who are looking for a good EWI know what they are buying. First off, the Pros: 1. This unit has 94 tones built in. Actually, I counted 26 unique tones (such as brass, flute, synth, etc) with many variations on the basic tones. For example, there are 4 clarinet tones, but each tone has a subtle variation such as adding a vibrato or changing the attack of the sound. This lets you have a better choice of sounds without adding more controls to work through. 2. Good speaker for regular performance with the option of a headphone jack for private practise. I use the headphone jack most of the time so no one hears when I make a mistake. There is also a ¼ in output if you want to amplify your sound through a PA. As I said before, I don’t need a MIDI interface and I am pleased that there is a Bluetooth connection option although the headphone jack is sufficient for me. Now the cons or limitations of this product: 1. I am unable to use my breath control to adjust the sound volume. There is a Pressure option, but It does not seem to help with sound volume. I use the lowest setting I can because it is difficult to get air through the instrument. Perhaps my diaphragm is too weak. 2. The Setting controls are confusing to use. The instructions make sense but are not intuitive. The knob is used to move from one setting to the next. Then you press the top of the knob in to change the setting you used the knob to get to. Then you rotate the knob again to select the setting you want and click the knob again to lock your choice and return to the setting selection. It took me a while to get the hang of it. 3. The EWI has a chorus control, but I don’t like what it does to the sound. Perhaps it works better with different tones. The reverb control is nice, but I doubt if I will use it. Final thoughts: I like the Saxophone fingering over the Dizi (Recorder) fingering because it allows me to play a full octave without using the octave rollers. The disadvantage is that you only have one button to raise a not ½ step. The Dizi fingering only gives you 7 notes, but lets you use the bottom button to flat a note which may be more useful to some. If I could request one feature to improve this instrument it would be to give it a tuning control which would allow you to match the tuning pitch of an out of tune instrument such as an old piano. The EWI has a transposition control which is handy so you don’t have to adjust your fingering for different songs. But this allows you to only adjust by half steps and is not as useful as a tuning control would be. If you are like me, I think you would be very happy with this instrument and all the limitations I mentioned won’t be a problem. It is a quality instrument at a good price. ... show more

  • Great instrument
Purchased for my Daughter as a Christmas 🎄 gift and she loves it. It has multiple instrument sounds and they sound just like the instruments you select comes with fingering chart to help learn how to play. My daughter plays the clarinet and was able to master this thing in 15min.

  • Can't contact anyone for customer support.
Every instrument sound selection has a tremolo effect in the background. Can't find out how to turn it off , if I can. And the manual says if you have any problems Customer Support will be happy to assist you , but there is absolutely no contact information anywhere on the Amazon site or Internet in general to contact support. Like the concept. Speaker quality is very good. All is all , good product except for this one issue. ... show more

  • EASY TO LEARN
I didn't think I was going to keep this instrument at first. After playing it for about 40 hours I have come to really enjoy it. Easy to learn if you have basic music knowledge. I love that I can play along with the music playing in my headphones and not disturbing the wife.

  • Love it! Some issues though.
I absolutely love this product but it becomes quickly overrun with humidity and won't play. Also the instructions aren't very good. If this had better instructions, and if it played longer than the short period of time, I would have totally given this five stars! (the battery holds well, that's not the issue. It says in the instructions not to play longer than I think it was 30 minutes but don't hold me to that because I can't remember at the moment). ... show more
