  • Worth every penny. Quiet. Strong. Efficient
Style: 2235 Size: Standard Anvil Color: Gray
I am an hobbiest mechanic. I have 3 jeeps I maintain and a car. I do gear instals and suspension builds on the side, occasionally. Have been using/struggling with an old Handed-down CH impact for years. It finally gave up the ghost. I bit the bullet and spent a little extra on this impact. I used for the 1st time today to change over four 8 lug rimmed tires. I swear I thought it was broken at 1st because it barely makes any noise and sure seems like it is barely working. That was furthest from the trurh. With my old impact I would have to break the lug's loose 1st with my four-way lug wrench. Then the impact could move the next. When installing notes I used to have to check all of them afterwards it makes for there were tight enough come out by hand. Did a test on how tight it gets the lugs; on number 3 out of 4 it gets lugs as tight or tighter than I can get with my 4 way wheel lug wrench. Pretty sure this thing will last me the rest of my life. Very happy where the purchase. As an added bonus, I tested out Its efficiency by using the onboard air compressor system in my Jeep.. With my old impact, this was pointless; I wouldn't power the gun. With this new gun, it works as well as when it's hooked up to my shop compressor. This impact is super powerful and super efficient at the same time! ... show more

  • It's Great.
Style: 2235 Quiet Size: Standard Anvil Color: Gray
Paid $230 in summer 2019, first problem came up last week. When hooking up to air the gun would jump to full throttle. Bought a 'tune-up' kit from IR, installed, and works good as new. This thing hit hard five years ago when I worked in automotive, hits just as hard now working on garbage trucks.

Such a great gun for the money and will knock almost anything loose! I will forever recommend this for new or old mechanics.

  • GREAT TRIGGER CONTROL
Style: 2235 Size: Standard Anvil Color: Hi-vis Red
It works really well. The gun is smaller than I expected which is a plus. Its not too heavy. Trigger control is awesome and really responsive. Huge upgrade when compared to the M18 fuel 1/2 IMPACT. This gun is really powerful maybe not the most powerful in the market but its not that big either. It gets rusted exhaust fasteners off better than the M18. I had one case where this gun did not have the beans to get a bolt off that the M18 did with a full charge(but then drained battery on one shot also might've been loosened a lil by the IR), but I'm using a 1/4 hose so that's most likely why. Either way it is much more comfortable working with this gun than a Milwaukee. Overall I'm impressed and very happy with this purchase, its not very loud either. I was going to get the MATCO but they look exactly like IR. The only reason I would consider MATCO over this is for an easier warranty but hopefully the IR holds up passed the 2 year warranty these guns have ... show more

  • A couple lemons, but once working is amazing
Style: 2235 Quiet Size: Standard Anvil Color: Gray
Starting with the good, excellent impact and takes off everything I’ve thrown at it with ease! Quiet and powerful, and as far as impacts go, not too heavy for it’s size. Rebuild kits are currently available and I imagine with a little upkeep, could last decades. The bad. My first one had some leaks and looked used. I sent it back. The second one had a broken trigger. I was annoyed and rather than send it back, spent an hour on YouTube and figured it out. The air intake assembly wasn’t connected correctly, it looked like the spring washer was not installed correctly, but the insides looked perfect otherwise from what I could tell. 5 minutes of fiddling, got it working perfectly. But super annoying to have a new tool that doesn’t work out of the box. In this case, two in a row! For that, minus a star even though the wrench itself is phenomenal. In general, I have been very pleased with Ingersoll Rand. Have a compressor and a dozen tools of theirs. This is the second tool that had issues on arrival, but I still expect it to last a very very long time for my occasional weekend warrior work. ... show more
