  • Huge improvement
I installed these in my '99 Tacoma. They're a huge improvement over the stock speakers that are now well over 20 years old. They were super easy to install (with the wiring harness - sold separately), for the most part. I have an extended cab and these fit into the back (with provided mounting bracket) without issue. The front door speakers needed a little modifying on the bracket to fit properly with door panels and molding (I had to cut some of the mounting tabs ((thankfully not used to secure speaker)) in order to get door and trim panels back in place). The sound quality is amazing. They provide just enough bass for me to hear it clearly but not so much that I feel like I'm in a dance club. I'm motivated to replace the speakers in my other car with these ones. ... show more

  • Good for the money, make sure you use a sound deadener with these.
These have GREAT sound to them, but if you just put them in with the speaker adapters you bought and wire them up they won't in every vehicle. I am a Mitsubishi technician so I used these as a test to see whether or not they'd be a suitable replacement for the following vehicles: 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander (full size) Tested in all 3 cars, the sport didn't need any help in sounding good enough, other than to adjust the crossover. However, in the eclipse cross, the midrange was resonating in the door very badly (as the base model speakers do in these cars) and it was a horrible experience. The full size outlander was alright but not great overall. I had a few boxes of some new 3-layer sound deadening I was trying, NVX SDRF20. It is the same as using Noico + the 150mil foam it can be used with, except it's all one piece, no having to make the layers yourself, it also costs the same if you buy both in the same quantities. Coated the inner panels of the door with the deadening and boy oh boy did it make a difference - no more bad resonance on the mid range and the bass output was much better and tighter. They sound great when given a little help. I also added some Stinger Roadkill RKFR6 speaker rings with the added baffles behind them to make sure all was well and it was! In the end, the speakers are good if the car they're going into is also good. If you're going to put speakers into a vehicle, take the time to do it right and add all the other bits as well so you don't have to worry about them not meeting your expectations. Plus, you get all the other added benefits of doing it right as well, such as adding insulation and reducing road noise from the sound deadening. Do it right, do it once. ... show more

  • Easy install - Once you have all the parts you need!
I like the sound of these, and they're very straightforward to install. That said... Pay attention to the "Customers Also Purchased..." section - would have saved me a day or two! Depending on your vehicle...if you're replacing factory speakers, there's a good chance that you may need a mounting ring adapter, and a wiring harness adapter. Do your homework (or some exploratory surgery!) and make sure you have EVERYTHING you need before you crack anything open! ... show more

  • No competition
I had infinity mids in my 1984 Honda Prelude. I also had an Alpine deck, 12-band Alpine eq with digital crossover, an Alpine amp for the infinity mids, a Rockford Fosgate amp powering two 12" Rockford Fosgate subs. This was 1988ish. You could hear me from two miles away. I set off car alarms and probably damaged the elderly. I got a new car with stock speakers and stock amp. BTW my infinity speakers were blown. I replaced the stock with the blown infinity speakers. They sounded way better than stock, even with the stock amp. Recently, I bought two infinity 6x9s to replace my rear stock speakers. I bought two kickers for the front because of the size. MISTAKE! I was able to make the new infinity speakers fit where the Kickers were. I can hear so clearly, I've actually had to adjust the Google eq for less bass. Do yourself a favor and replace all your stock speakers with infinity speakers! ... show more

  • Better than stock
Great set of speakers, former owner put in another brand and they didn’t sound good at all. The highs and mods are crisp, the lows are not great but they are there. An amp would definitely help these speakers reach their full potential, but the Alpine deck does deliver a decent amount of power. A separate subwoofer would sure help the lows . Put these in all the doors in a 2000 Tahoe. Easy install ... show more

  • Infinity Ref vs Factory = No contest
Bought these to replace the factory speakers in my 2015 F150's front doors. To be fair, the factory speakers in the F150 are crap. They are low power rated speakers that are built using PLASTIC frames. So comparing these Infinity speakers to the factory Ford speakers is like comparing apples to oranges. Actually, there is no comparison. I purchased the Metra speaker adapters for the F150 so these would bolt right in. I also ordered the wire harness adapters from Metra so I would have a clean installation with no splices. Installation was a breeze and the biggest problem I ran into was just getting the door panels off so I could mount the speakers. I also replaced the rear door speakers with 6.5" Infinity Reference speakers, in addition to the 3.5" speaker on the dash. These Infinity Reference speakers sound completely amazing when compared to the factory units. I have lots of bass and the directional tweeters can be aligned so that they point towards the closest listener, which helps to project the high frequencies. They also don't rattle like the factory speakers did. Had I known how lame the factory speakers were, I would have replaced them as soon as I purchased the truck. :) Would definitely recommend to F150 owners. ... show more
