Description

Limited double 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. The Infamous is the second studio album by the American hip hop duo Mobb Deep, released in 1995. The album features guest appearances from Nas and Wu-Tang Clan members Reakwon and Ghostface Killah. It marked Mobb Deep's transition from a relatively unknown rap duo to an influential and commercially successful one. One of the cornerstones of the New York hardcore movement, The Infamous is Mobb Deep's masterpiece, a relentlessly bleak song cycle that's been hailed by hardcore rap fans as one of the most realistic gangsta albums ever recorded. This is hard, underground hip hop that demands to be met on it's own terms, with few melodic hooks to draw the listener in. Similarly, there's little pleasure or relief offered in the picture of the streets Mobb Deep paint here. They inhabit a war zone where crime and paranoia hang constantly in the air. The product of an uncommon artistic vision, The Infamous stands as an all-time gangsta/hardcore classic.

  • FOR PEOPLE THINKING TWICE ON BUYING THIS
A classic album! But this is more for the people thinking twice on buying it cause of the bad reviews. I would only recommend this vinyl if you have a actual good vinyl player. Not one of those cheep, in a suit case, 30-60 dollar vinyl players. You know what I’m talking about! I got my copy and everything was fine. Came with the actual cover (cause that’s another complaint from the reviews) and both sides play fine. Made me wonder if the bad reviews are just from beginner vinyl players or they actually sent a bad copy 🤔 Either way my copy came out fine and I highly recommend this album ... show more

  • Great sounding pressing!
This Music On Vinyl pressing is great! Very clear and rich sound. Records even come in anti-static inner sleeves.

  • it's great and nice to have on vinyl
One thing to be clear and careful about is that the photo shown is for the album that came out after the one listed. The one listed is for The Infamous album, not Hell on Earth. I spoke with an Amazon representative and they clarified that this was the case. However, I did order this once and received the Hell on Earth album. So, just be aware of that distinction. In terms of the album, it's great and nice to have on vinyl. The original pressing did have the full artwork but has been out of print for years. This reissue has the black sleeve and no real artwork, as others have stated. Originals with the artwork go for a pretty penny so you have to decide if that's truly that important or whether having the music is. ... show more

  • Old School Cool
Bought this as a Valentine's gift for someone who couldn't find it anywhere. Who doesn't love old school rap or vinyls? Excellent gift!

  • Classic Album.
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for this album for a while and finally found it. the tracks “the start of your ending” “survival of the fittest” “eye for an eye” “up north trip” “temperatures rising” “shook ones pt 2” all sound so amazing on it.

  • A classic comes alive
Unbelievably fantastic pressing. It's sonically perfect and honestly it's like listening to this album for the first time all over again. These MOV releases are truely special.
