  • SUSTAINABLE WOOD FROM NEW MEXICO: All wood used in the production of these shelves was sourced in northern New Mexico in conjunction with the Collaborative Forest Restoration Program (CFRP). CFRP is a program funded by the USDA Forest Service to improve forest health and reduce the risk of wildland fires. This wood was collected with the goal of maintaining the health and productivity of the land in which it was gathered and proudly displays some of what the American Southwest has to offer.
  • UNIQUE COLOR AND GRAIN: Each Douglas Fir board is unique in both and color and grain. This Sunset Brown a slightly washed out soft brown with budding hints of orange. Please take a look at some of the great photos we have taken of these shelves to get a better idea of what these might look like in your space. The shelves that you get will be slightly different than those pictured, but that is the appeal of real wood, no one piece or finish is the exact same.
  • COMPONENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS: This set comes with (2) shelves, (8) flanges, (4) 1-inch connectors, (4) 4-inch pipes, screws, anchors, and a set of instructions. Each wood shelf measures 24 inches in length, 7 inches in wide, and 1 inch in height (thickness). We have weight tested these and are confident in asserting that you should have no issues putting 50 pounds of evenly distributed weight on a single shelf that is only screwed into your dry wall.

Although the wood is beautiful (although only distressed and stained on one side), I wish I had known the extent to which these shelves were DIY. It would have been easier and cheaper to just buy wood and brackets. The iron pipe that comes with this was covered in oil and the black residue got on everything as I was unpacking it. Because of the design, it is practically impossible to ensure that the brackets (even when installed completely level) will in turn support the shelf level. I gave up and will be returning- for that price I will purchase something that’s a bit more “ready to hang.” ... show more

    • Instillation nightmare; buyer beware

First; then instructions are basically useless, if not worse. They give the incorrect size of bit for pre-drilling for the included wall anchors, leaving said anchors to fall into the wall. The drywall anchors themselves are complete garbage; I’ve only gotten one of the shelves up so far and 3 of the anchors have simply ripped apart while screwing them into the wall. On top of that, the shelves themselves are just very difficult to install-I’m not sure if it’s the weight or angle of the pipes (you cannot get to the screws straight on), but these have been a nightmare. Hopefully they stay up on the few screws that actually worked with the wall anchors or were able to hit studs. ... show more

Fantastic product. I like that the wood is resourced. They are very sturdy and the color was spot on what the picture showed. It is definitely a DIY style shelf. I used acetone to clean the metal and a crystal clear enamel spray paint to coat them from rust. To make sure the pipe bracket went to gether and were level I used a micrometer to measure the thread spacing at all connections. This way I made sure the match brackets were as close to each other as possible, without getting to picky. Also, great customer service. One board was cracked. I sent them and email. They responded same day. I gave them my order # and mailing address and they had another board to me in less than a week. ... show more

Great real wood shelves with actual solis pipes. But the pipes are ciated in oil which prevents rust. So be careful or you'll get the oil all over the wall. I had to lay out the design on paper to get the spacing of the pipes on the wall. There is no instructions. install. Packaging had an oder from the oil so open everything, wipe it down, then throw all the packaging and wipe towels outside. It was easy to install once I figured out how to level everything. The quality is great. Look and feel we are pleased with. They fail to mention the pipe parts of the floating shelves will not screw to the same level on all. Creating an uneven surface for the shelves. We had to screw some less than others to create a leveled surface between all the elbow parts holding the shelf up. Instructions are decent you can fill in the gaps if you’re not sure on something. Overly all after some problem solving we were able to get them up. I ordered the 36inch Boulder Black shelving !- product is worth every penny, great wood, great piping, even comes with drywall anchors. The tedious part was cleaning the piping (Goo gone from the dollar store does the trick and takes about a half hour to clean and dry). I’m 5’2 and 100 pounds and the total time for installing alone was about an hour and a half (cleaning,mounting and decorating) . I took my time and made sure things were lined up and it turned out a-okay. Would buy again ! ... show more

I ordered these for the rustic shelves, not the brackets (which I'll use elsewhere cuz they ARE really cool 😎), and the shelves are exactly what I was looking for. The only problem i have is that the 2 i received are extraordinarily different in thickness. I realize that each piece will be a little different and there's no way to get real wood to be perfectly symmetrical, but quality control should catch differences this significant and make an effort for them to be more similar in thickness. Since I intend to have lots of other things on them I don't think it'll be something that will be noticeable unless you're looking for it, but if you want or need symmetrical surfaces make sure you inspect them on arrival! ... show more

Beautiful shelf but lots to do before installation. I cleaned each metal piece with Mineral Spirits then painted them matte black. I found it easiest to attach the bracket to the board first. You have to measure them if you want them all equal as each piece did not screw together equally. We screwed one screw into the wall on the left bracket, leveled it up and screwed one into the right bracket. From there, we could finish putting screws in. You have to have it just right so you have access to all four screw holes too. All in all, it’s beautiful. Can’t wait to get it decorated and pictures hung. ... show more
