I love the shelf. Looks great in the kitchen. It's heavy so I recommend screwing at least 1 side into studs. And I recommend 2 people to install. I'm a petite 5'2 woman and I made the mistake of doing this myself, while standing on top of the counter, holding the 25lb shelf with my knee while marking the screw holes. Get a second pair of hands, really. You'll thank me. I flipped the top 2 shelves upside down so that the pretty side is visible. Did I mention that I'm 5'2? Yeah, I don't see the top of the shelves so it doesn't bother me that the top side is plain. Mine came with some pieces already assembled incorrectly. Took me a bit to realize that the missing pieces were put together with other pieces incorrectly. I did buy it "used" from amazon warehouse so understandable. ... show more

    • Need three people to assemble, but beautiful!
I tried to put it up myself, with some help from my fiancé, but soon realized it was impossible. It’s heavy, so requires one person to hold it up, one person to make sure it’s level, and another person to mark where the holes need to be drilled. The anchors provided are inadequate for the shelf to hold books, so you’ll have to buy better anchors, unless you just plan to use for nick nacks. Looks beautiful once installed! ... show more

If you are a DIY'er this pipe shelf kit may be for you. Everything is there, you have to figure how best to hang it. You are provided with the parts but you have to decide how to do it right. My kit was shipped complete. The instructions are clear. My wall is 1/2 inch sheet rock and the studs were not where I wanted to put the shelf case, over my toilet. I improvised with screw anchors. My pipe shelves are snug and feel sturdy against the wall. They are very attractive to say the least. If you are not a DIY'er, find a friend that is. You will like the results ... show more

Edit 2020 June 16th: I have taken another star off since the seller is not responding. In a nutshell, these shelves look so cool but I would have go for 2 shelves or the 24in version. Still Worth the money though. Some points to keep in mind, the 3 shelves setup is way too heavy and high. We haven't really paid attention when buying so we ended up installing only 2 shelves. Like the other comments mention, only one side of the wood is treated therefore we had the top shelves reversed in order to see the good looking bottom side. Again like the others mentioned, this product is not designed for easy installation. How in the world you design a product for fixing to the wall as a complete assembly instead of installing the wall plates first and then screw in the rest of the assembly. There is a high chance that you may mess up with marking the hole location if your wall is not fully straight or you cannot hold the shelves tight while another person is marking the hole centers. In my opinion there should be an extra piece that would allow the pipes to be assembled after you fix only 4pcs of round wall plates first. Then you wouldn’t need to carry the whole shelf while your wife is trying to drive the screws. :) The screws and anchors in the package are crab! Use a good dry wall anchor for the dry wall holes. Another design flaw is that the distance between the hole centers should be 32in instead of 33in. In that case you will have the max possibility to match the studs. I was able to get to the studs on one end at least and used dry wall toggle anchors for the other end. Other than these, it is really so solid and good looking and I am quite impressed with the quality of the wood and pipes as I was expecting cheap wood and steel looking plastic pipes! Great job on the material selection. I contacted the manufacturer to request some additional parts so that I can use my additional 2 shelves that I spared from my 2 sets. But no response yet so I am taking another star off for the poor customer service. ... show more

I wanted shelves by my tv to place all the game systems and etc. they make my tv look small hehehe. Asked the Ex to install all six and he gave out after placing four of them hahaha they are heavy and well made .... my son and I had to take turns holding them up so he can place them. Really makes you feel out of shape hehehe all my friends said they LOVE them. Thinking about ordering more after the Ex finishes placing the other two in my Daughter’s room. As you can see in the pictures, I desperately need organization in my life and now I have these beautiful shelves :) ... show more

    • Good quality shelf that looks good and is very sturdy.
I would probably rate this 3 1/2 stars. The wood is good and didn't really have any imperfections. I asked a question regarding the pipe size and the seller responded 3/4". But after receiving it, it's actually a 1" pipe. So the seller gave me wrong information and I had to repurchase pipes again with the correct size. The 1" pipes are thinner then real Black Gas pipes but they are sturdy enough to support a good amount of weight. You can use 1" pipe to customize the shelf if you need to extend it out. You could probably save about 40 bucks building it yourself with the cheapest gas pipe on Amazon which would still be stronger then the fake pipes. But the time and effort its just easier buying the premade materials. ... show more

I love this shelf! It is nice looking, sturdy and is a quality piece. However.. it is heavy! They included plastic anchors for the screws but they would never work to try and hang he shelf on a Sheetrock wall. I bought some rustic looking 1x3.. cut 2 pieces the width of the shelf unit..screwed those to the wall attaching it to studs.. top and bottom..then attached the shelf unit to the 1x3. Nice clean look and it is not going to move. Again.. I love it. ... show more
