Went together easily, looks as expected. I had read a question about "stability", especially on a rug. While I was unpacking I was impressed with the weight and size of the base, a disk about 10 inches in diameter, and thought certainly there would be no problems. But I was wrong. It does stay up on a flat, dense short pile carpet, and remains standing after a sneeze. Anything more than that and the lamp will fall over. It is okay for me, no pets or children around and I stick it in a hard to get at place. I bought it for the clean design, the frosted glass shade, the economical price and I was able to choose my own bulb. ... show more

We happened to receive one that would not stay together where the poles connect, in the middle of the stand. The 2 parts that needed to screw together would not stay together and stand upright, causing the lamp to fall over.
