Our son has eczema, so we're constantly searching for the best products that won't irritate his skin. I love the smell of laundry detergent, but typically we have to choose unscented products because the chemical scents cause skin irritations and rashes on his body. I was excited to read reviews of this laundry soap, but a little hesitant to pull the trigger based on negative comments about size and lack of concentration/smell. I went with my gut and ordered the smaller size. I absolutely LOVE this laundry detergent! I've tried it on about 8 loads so far and feel it far surpasses the laundry detergent I was using before (an unscented, earth-friendly brand.). Don't be alarmed by the small bottle. This stuff is highly concentrated and a little bit goes a LONG way. The directions tell you to measure in the cap, but the cap is tiny and this is a messy process. I use a 1-ounce medicine cup (the kind that comes on top of cough syrup) for easy use. I have a top load, large capacity, HE washing machine that's brand new. I fill the detergent to the very top of the 1-ounce cup and either put it inside the liquid tray or put it directly in the washer. Either works fine. What I love the most about this detergent (besides the fact that it cleans well and doesn't irritate my son's skin) is the smell. It is WONDERFUL! Too much Patchouli can smell like a crowded 70s concert, so I like the fact that it's paired with Frankincense to even it out. Once the clothes enter the dryer, I can smell the fragrance throughout my home and even outside (because the dryer vent exits the side of my house.). I didn't really believe the reviews stating that no fabric softener is needed when using this soap, but it is completely true! I've tested that out multiple times and not a bit of static remains in my clothing once it's out of the dryer. Once dried, the clothing holds a faint smell of the laundry detergent. It's not enough to make people stop and take notice when walking past you, but it's enough to get a nice aroma when giving your loved one a hug. I'd compare it to just a small dab of perfume on your skin. Yes, this laundry soap is expensive when you look at the size and compare it to store brands, but it's well worth the money for what you get. It definitely yields 32 loads if you measure it out carefully. I actually like the small size because it stores easily and is simple to pour and use. I'll continue to buy this soap because of it's cleaning power, wonderful smell, and hypoallergenic nature for our skin-sensitive family. ... show more

When this first arrived at my doorstep I was shocked. The package is so small. Teeny. It looks like something that elves would use to clean out laundry. Directions claim it’s super concentrated, and in my experience that means nothing. I thought for sure I just got screwed. I opened it and I love the scent. I am a real big fan of a few cents and you don’t find that often laundry soap. Patrocholi is my favorite scent of all. I was considering bathing in it... My first two questions were is this a waste of money and will the scent l last I followed the directions and use the captain. Given the fact that the container was small, the Cap even smaller. I’d say maybe 2 teaspoons. There’s no way this will work, I said to myself. Boy was I wrong! They meant it when they say it’s super concentrated. That little town, which looks like nothing in terms of laundry detergent, cleaned a full load. And I mean a full load. Towels, cat urine, play clothes, sweatshirts, everything. It cleans better than other detergents I had to use much more detergent to clean. It just works amazing. My second concern was the scene - and once again I was pleasantly surprised. It does last even through the dryer. I don’t mean you’re overwhelmed with the scent of patrolchi and frankincense; I mean there is a light scent to the clothes when they come out of the dryer. Not overwhelming, just enough. Very pleasant. Despite the price and the small package, I’m loving it and will be buying it again. In fact it may be my only laundry soap. I know, I know... patchouli is one of those you love it or hate it smells. I happen to love it so when I stumbled onto this laundry detergent w/ great reviews while I was well armed with Christmas Amazon giftcards, I was all in. It arrived yesterday. I was a tad surprised by the smaller than envisioned bottle considering it claimed to provide 32 loads. Then I read the directions, 1 small capful per load, (approx 2 tsp worth). OMG, how can that possibly be right!?! Tonight I tried it out and I seriously might just be in lust with this stuff. My sheets & tops came out very clean, my whole house smells divine & not at all overpowered, it's made with all eco friendly ingredients and since my portable washer uses half the detergent of a big washer I'll get 64 loads out of this bottle. This will be going on my auto order list after I figure out how fast I'm gonna use it up. PS: if patchouli isn't your thing, they do offer other scents.... ... show more

I have been using this for a couple weeks now. I am trying to switch over to using as many organic and natural products as I can so I appreciate this one because it works. I will say it is one of only two that I have tried so far. I like that is has a decent smell - not the best but its okay, unlike many organic laundry soaps and detergents that have no scent so the clothes get clean but still come out smelling kind of dirty. I would like it if they would try some different scents too though. I really like this brand, I use their shower soap and it works great. The only downside is this bottle of laundry soap is pretty small and pricey for the amount you are getting. On the plus side your don't have to use very much as it is strong and fairly concentrated but if I were buying for more than just me, an average to large family would go through this bottle very quickly. ... show more

I like the fact that it has soap and not detergent which is a lot more gentler on your clothes your clothes will last longer I do a lot of washing by hand some of my silk clothing or pillowcases. But in the washer to it’s wonderful you only use a tiny cap full so one bottle will last forever! I highly recommend this soap! ... show more
