    • Really well designed and made, just one funny thing to watch out for.
I only bought this boom arm because it's length when collapsed was short enough to fit in my new lighting bag. When I got it I was surprised to see how well made it was. And whoever designed it took extra steps to address the weak points of other boom arms I've used. I was very impressed! There was one rather funny thing that I will tell buyers to watch out for. You know the little ring at the back end of the arm for attaching a sand bag? Well, instead of a ring, the designer decided to use an open hook. This makes it easy to hang your sandbag if you loose the small carabiner. However.... if you happen to twist the main tube so that the opening of the hook is pointed down, your sandbag falls to the floor and your light stand is now unbalanced. Watch out! I heard these were well made for the price. I was still surprised how sturdy it feels. I paired mine on a wescott 10’ stand with a godox AD200, with the extension head and bowens S mount. I was able to boom all the way out with a standard reflector with no weight. Yes a weight would help but I feel confident with a weight and a softbox with this set up. The angle adjustment is very secure and there’s no wobble in the extensions. It collapses down smaller than my stand. ... show more

    • Professional quality for an affordable price
I’ve purchased several brands of c-stand arms and this one is by far the best quality. The light stand tripod attachment point is heavy duty and the arm sections lock securely. Having a sandbag (unfilled) to balance the arm weight included is a bonus. I use it frequently for video projects and so far it has held its own (I am pretty clumsy so my fear always gets a workout.) ... show more

Honestly I wanted to love this thing. I have all impact light stands and backdrop holders but this boom pole is not even close to the stability or sturdiness I expected. With just the godox ad400 pro and no softbox, it begins to bow, even when balanced. It does stay in place but I'm worried about the arm snapping under moderate load. Note: the first arm I received was actually broken at the bracket from bolt over tightening on delivery. ... show more

    • Great for small lights
I sometimes use a speedlight in a small 7 inch reflector as a hair light or for separation in portrits. This is very portable and does the job. You won't be hanging a big light on it, but it is still stable with something like the Godox AD 200 and reflector.
