Description

The third thriller in the Tom Keeler series, a story that will literally blow you away. ‘Love the entire Tom Keeler trilogy, but this one was the best. Fast pace, lots of action from a tender-hearted hero.’ - Amazon Reader ‘This is a fast paced clever mystery, very grounded, and realistic. The best yet.’ - Amazon Reader _______________ AN ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE. A woman tries to kill a stranger, and then shoots herself in the head. THE COVERUP. Afghan interpreters for the US Army are being abandoned by the powers that be. THE BLACKMAILERS. Someone in town is running a deadly game that only has one outcome, death. TOM KEELER. Delivering on a promise, Keeler comes up to Indiana. Pretty soon he’s in the thick of a situation that he can't walk away from. A storm approaches in the cold distance, and the wind begins to howl. _______________ Readers are gripped by IMPACT: 'As a former Para rescue officer in the Air Force, I can appreciate the skills and thought process that Tom Keeler has. Plus he manages to find romance regularly.’ ‘Jack Reacher has competition with Tom Keeler. This is one of the best reads in a while. I’m looking forward to more like this. Not simply violent, but complex, human and engrossing.’ ‘I was really looking forward to the release of this book and I was not disappointed. Plenty of thrills and spills kept me turning the pages as it became one of those books which you wanted to read slowly so it didn’t come to an end too soon!’ If you read only one book this year, this is it. A dazzling tour de force from the mind of one of the most talented writers working today. Action, adventure, courage, evil, and characters you can sink your teeth into. If you're looking for a new thriller series that will stay with you long after you turn the last page, look no further. Recommended for fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne, and Brad Thor's Scot Harvath. Read more

  • Wow, what a ride!
Jack can write! Many can, but Jack does it really well. Great story line, great characters, and non-stop action. And every now and again, I laughed out loud! No one can ask for more than that. Great read! Thanks, Jack.

  • Quality writing, holds interest, But...
This is the third book in the series featuring Tom Keeler (that I know of). Tom is ex special forces, polite, intelligent, excels in all forms of fighting, and doesn't carry a phone. I enjoyed his adaptability in investigating and thwarting different bad guys he encounters. After 3 books, a pattern becomes evident. The evil mastermind/boss has a lot of specialized people working for him. Either this includes the police, or the local police are incompetent. Tom likes to take a lot of risks (which usually pay off for him). Tom meets a local woman who is nearly his equal in fighting aptitude. The characters and locale are interesting and hold my attention, but I do not think I will read anymore of this author's work. The reason is that the master bad guy becomes more and more powerful (and less believable) in each book. In this last book, a number of plot elements which held my attention were not resolved to my satisfaction. The guitar case turns out to contain a guitar belonging to a "great musician" named Montgomery, WOW. The big boss, despite totally owning local police decides to burn down 7 of his homes to cover his tracks. At one point, Tom has to retreat because the boss calls up a dozen or so operatives who are nearly equal to Tom in fighting ability, but in the final showdown these guys are nowhere to be seen. Tom also has a bad habit of leaving his gun in his car or elsewhere right before he gets in a fight with a guy with a gun. Not major flaws, that's why I gave this book 4 stars and the 2 before 5 stars. They are better than 99% of the Kindle Unlimited books I have read. ... show more

  • One of the best in this genre
Not a dull moment from the first chapter to the last. Keeler is a guy that you will love. He is fearless and unflappable in the face of the most dangerous situations. He is a great guy who will help anyone in trouble without prejudice. Also Lively is a terrific writer, his words flow smoothly thru out every page. ... show more

  • Tom is another Jack Reacher
Good read, especially if you like Lee Child’s Jack (NMN) Reacher. I will now read book 4 and am looking forward to it.

  • Dumb Ending
Very exciting read again. Keeler is always busy fighting bad guys. The ending where he finally delivers the guitar and case, the whole reason why he even is in this town where all the trouble is, just seems to be missing something.

  • incredible story
The author threw everything into this great read. Then wrote the climax to include a devastating tornado. Amidst the chaos of debris filled air good and evil faced off in an great battle. I’ll encourage you to read this amazing tale you will not be disappointed.

  • Very intense
This is an intense mystery. Tom Keeler is asked to deliver a guitar to an old lady in another state. When he gets there the guitar is stolen from his car, there is an attempted murder on the woman across the street, there are tornadoes on their way and Tom Keeler finds himself in the middle of something sinister involving a loan sharking organization with paid assassins and local police probably on the payroll as well. Keeler is ex-military and has many skills. It's a good story with lots of colorful characters and I know it is fiction, but it portrays Keeler as some kind of superhero that almost single handedly takes down the biggest crooks in town. He meets the niece of the woman he is delivering the guitar to and of course a love interest begins as well as becoming partners in fighting this organization. Everywhere they turn there are heavily armed people trying to kill them, but they come out of it with minor injuries and everyone else is dead. I know it's fiction but it's too over the top. Each fight scene takes many pages to describe and pretty soon there is another one. There is so much going on it makes your head spin and after a while you don't care anymore. I liked the story but the writing of was just too much. (less) ... show more
