  • Such a fun game!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Okay this game surprised me! I purchased it to hold me over while I wait for the new Diablo 4 Expansion. At first didn’t think I’d be so hooked! Turns out this game was created upon an assassin’s creed odyssey glitch and I can totally see it now! Many (newer) AC elements to be found here such as ability to climb surfaces and hills, cosmetic overlays on gears, fighting is impressive and buttons are easy to familiarize yourself with. (I just keep forgetting to hit O to enable gliding as from my demon hunter days (WoW) you just needed to double jump to glide, but I got use to it fairly quickly!) Check it out, lots of hours of fun in this little hidden gem of a game, I liked it so much I purchased the assassin’s creed Odyssey game to play after this one. Lots of fun side quests and areas of interest to explore which you wouldn’t get if you were actually flying so I’m glad it’s just gliding! Oh and you can even tame mounts! Only downsides I can think of it it’s bit of a grind to update gear and such, there will be days I can’t get any upgrades. I also always seem to be lacking on positions and am forced to run around collecting ingredients, also some dungeons can be so long to a point I don’t want to finish and end up leaving, losing all progress. (The dungeon parts are my least favorite though). ... show more

  • Fenyx Rising is one of the best, most fun games I've played in years.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Lots of hours into this game Fenyx Rising, and still enjoying it very much. It's one of the best action adventure games I've played in awhile, but my only criticism is the story is all over the place with the missions. There's no real story to it, just quests to accomplish for different characters. At least so far. Unlocked most of the map but still have a lot more to discover. The map is giant, but the ability to glide is so much fun like Raziel in Soul Reaver PS1 PS2. I have to say the volcano pit puzzles set in outer space are challenging but really fun to solve and survive so far. Some very clever puzzles. What's great is it has me wondering but all the elements I need to solve it are right there in the area or nearby. If there's a puzzle that requires a special ability, the game tells you that too, and to return later. Fenyx Rising: Graphics: 8/10. In 4K 60 fps, really nice. Good scenery. Enemy variety and AI: 7/10. Could use more variations but still good. Puzzles: 10/10 These are fun, optional challenging puzzles most times. Game Options: 10/10. Tons of stuff you can adjust and change. Great!! Boss Fights: 8/10. Some challenging, but fun big boss fights. Weapon Combat: 9/10. Very fun combat and abilities with the axe, sword and bow and arrow. Lots of fun and powerful attacks for Fenyx. Character Customization: 7/10. You can change your new gear anytime you want, and even change your character's appearance at the main HQ. Open World: 9/10 Compact but giant landscape with nice variety and visuals. There's a perfect tempo to the day night cycle, a time of day adjust, and nice interaction from walking, swimming, going underwater, gliding, jumping, etc. Controls: 10/10. Everything I input the game does buttery smooth. RPG Elements: 9/10 Fun upgrades, armor, abilities and more to upgrade. Fun Factor: 10/10. This game is a joy to play. Originality: 6/10. It uses lots of other game ideas but it becomes a unique, fun experience in itself. Story: 6/10. Lots of Mythical history of the Greek gods but the story is all over the place so far as you go on quests to help other gods. Overall: 9/10. One of the best, most fun games I've played in years. I recommend Fenyx Rising for any fan of fun adventure games. ... show more

  • The game is fine, but
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
The game is fine, but I started playing the ps4 edition "upgraded" to the ps5 edition, that I had borrowed from my public library. I liked it well enough that I decided to buy it instead of checking it out over and over. So I bought the ps5 edition because it's the same as the upgraded edition, right? Wrong. My ps5 didn't recognize them as the same game even though I had "upgraded" the one I started with. So my save on the machine/cloud didn't transfer and I had to download the save from ubisoft. (you have to manually upload saves to the ubisoft cloud. It doesn't do it automatically like ps+ does) But none of the trophies or anything transferred with it, even though I have only played it on my ps5. So in the end I am borrowing it from my library anyway, because I am not starting over since I've completed two areas so far. If I had known I wouldn't have bothered buying it even though it was only $15. I don't think I'll ever replay it, there isn't any branching storylines or anything. It's an ok action game, the mythology is great; I loved reading Greek mythology as a kid and so it's got some sweet nostalgia for me. Once you learn the moves fighting it isn't very hard, but I only have it on normal difficulty. Most of the difficulty comes from the platforming in the Tartaros sections (I hated the Athena's dash one. Ugh.) It's not very hard to spot places of interest with god vision, most places will twinkle or sparkle if you're high enough (morning is a good time to spot ambrosia). I wish you could mark the crystals though. You just have to keep an eye out for those as they won't make the controller vibrate. So if you have a ps5 both versions play and look the same, but the system does NOT consider them to be the same game, even installing and playing only on one system. Even though they say it's a free upgrade to the ps5 version, it isn't really. I don't know if that's just an ubisoft thing or a ps5 thing. This is the only game I have started with the ps4 disc version and tried to go to the ps5 disc version. Maybe it has something to do with the drm on the disc itself, I don't know. I couldn't find any answers online, apparently I am the first person to have this problem. (or I'm not using the right keywords to search) ... show more

  • Great game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
I got this game for about 12 bucks and hoped to get a few weeks of play out of it. It turned into a few months of fun and challenges. Graphics are great, story is ok and some boss battles are a bit long but fun. I finished the game but left a lot of areas unexplored so I am replaying it just for the fun of it. The only negative would be that you have to sign into online account in order to play the game. ... show more
