  • Saved my head
Color: Yellow Size: X-Large
I bought this helmet to take my riding lessons in 2021. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a helmet til I knew if I would continue and could learn more about what would best fit me. I went one size up, from LG->XL and it fit comfortably. Eventually, the longer I wore it, the more it hurt from pressing on my forehead. I removed the padding and used an ice cream scoop to compress the front and back of the foam. Then I was able to wear it all day before it started hurting. Size-wise, it was great. I put in speakers and still had room to wear Earpods and there was plenty of space to slide glasses in and out with the helmet on. I was even using a strap to hold my glasses in the right place with no problem. Pros: You can't beat the price. Well built. I like the yellow because it is better for the heat but more visible than white. Spacious without being too loose. Quick release buckles are the best; can even clip it with one gloved hand (sometimes) if I forget before I take off. The face shield and shade operate easily. I even use the shade with sunglasses when heading into the sun. Cons: Main problem I encountered is the shield fogs when it rains and only solution is to crack it open a notch. Thankfully, the shield stayed in place when open. I wish there was more air flow. Can barely tell a difference between vents open and closed. I can't comment on the noise level: 1 because I've had nothing to compare it to, 2 I always ride with noise canceling ear pods, and 3 my road tourer blocks most of the wind. I will say this; I gave up using the bluetooth headset because the headset wouldn't let me raise the volume so I could hear anything above the wind noise above 60 mph. I recommend getting NC ear pods or wearing ear plugs just to save your hearing anyway. Over the years I've tried on other helmets, just for a fit check, Bilt, Schubert, Shoei, et al and none of them felt as comfortable as my ILM, so I never traded up. Now, The Best Part: I recently ran off the road at a curve going about 65 mph and rolled several times (I wasn't really counting) down the ditch and the helmet stayed on and did what it was supposed to. I had no head or neck injury! (I had Bohn armor on, in case you're interested.) The only injury I sustained was a broken Tibia and misaligned ankle from a 600 lb motorcycle landing on my ankle. I count myself extremely lucky. After that, the helmet was seriously scratched up and the shield hinge didn't function well and one of the black vent pieces came loose. At that point, I felt I had gotten my money's worth out of it and was more than happy to replace it. I might just replace it with the same one, though I might try on a few others in the same price range to see what feels the best. So, if you have an intermediate oval head, and you're considering buying this, and the Cons aren't deal breakers, I encourage you to consider it. Good for one good wreck, then replace it, and hope you never have to replace it! ... show more

  • Nice helmet order BIG
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
Great budget helmet and like it better than another brand I bought. Functionality is flawless and very little wind noise unlike my other helmet. I ordered according to the size chart, it was a large and too tight. Ended up getting a XL and it fit perfectly. I highly recommend ordering a size up from what the measurements say. You'll thank me later. Overall a great comfortable helmet and will accommodate earbuds with no problem. Good helmet for the cost. Buy it!!! ... show more

  • Great Value
Color: Black Red Size: Large
I've only had the helmet for 1 day and one short test ride but so far I am impressed with the quality and fit. It seems to be a well designed and built helmet. The tinted visor lever works smoothly and is easy to find even with gloves. Fitment wise it is good, but the only drawback as others have said is the cheek pads fit tight, but I'm hoping I can iron them down a little. I'm a skinny guy so I could see how it would be uncomfortable for someone with a "puffier" face. My wife wants a matching helmet but with the tightness of the cheek pads this one would be a tough sale for her. Works good for me though! ... show more

  • Well made helmet
Color: WHITE - LED Size: X-Large
I rather like everything about this helmet except for a couple of minor things. After ordering an XL, it was still necessary to remove the padded 3 snaps inner liners to have a more comfortable fit. It's quite sturdy and looks great. The airflow is adequate. The instructions are so so. The red helmet light on the rear doesn't seem to work. I have the white helmet & am impressed. As it's winter and can't use the padded liner, my winter soft knit stretchy ski hat is great. I especially like the dark goggle as it fits lower on my face and completely covers my glasses with room to spare. Helmet seems to be very functional. ... show more

Color: MATTE BLACK - LED Size: X-Large
Well I was hit by a car while riding my scooter, I did a full backflip in the air and landed on my back and head. I did not even feel the impact in my head, the helmet was toast by my brain is still in near mint condition. A comfortable and nicely made affordable helmet, I will buy another.

  • Best helmet I’ve owned
So many things to like, the button you push to open up the flip hood, and how it locks down solid. I like also how you can turn the sun visor down or up with switch on the side of helmet, although I think that could be a little bit smoother to do. It easily goes over my prescription glasses, wasn’t sure how well that was going to work, but I love it, the visor shade covers all of my vision. Like also how the chin strap ratchets down. Although one big dissapointment with that is that there is no way you can use your helmet lock on your motorcycle with this helmet. See pic, I drilled a 1/4" hole in ratchet so I could use helmet lock. Another thing with chin strap, is that there is just too much of it. I tightened it as far as it will go to get it snug, and the strap spends a lot of time flapping in the wind. For now, I just used a rubber band to tie it up, probably will cut it and sew up the end in the future. Helmet is very comfortable, and looks just super. It is DOT approved. When I first put it on, it seemed so big, like a basketball or pumpkin, and heavy too. Just haven’t worn a helmet in a long time, but I quickly adjusted to it in no time, just a minute or two. This helmet also does a great job of cutting down wind noise. I couldn’t be happier. Also just discovered the vent in front that opens and closes. See pic, just push up or down where my finger is at. I haven't had any issues with fogging up, unless I'm not moving on certain humid days, so I may just leave hood partially up until I get moving. Time will tell how well it holds up. I’ll update my review in the future. I honestly feel like this is a $200 helmet if it holds up, and if flip guard and sun visor continues to work properly without breaking. Someone complained that he flipped his hood up at 60mph and it broke, not sure I read that on this particular helmet or another, regardless, seems like operator error to me and most know not to do such a thing at those speeds. Happy trails. ... show more
